Brewers (Villanueva) @ Braves (Hudson) 9/20/07 6:05 CT ESPN

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Fri Sep 21, 2007 9:06 pm

National TV for the Brew Crew tonight and tomorrow. Tonight on ESPN tomorrow on FOX.
Cubs about to go up 2 games in the division so this will be the biggest game of the year for the Brewers.
A Brewer loss will put them down 2 in the loss column and 2.5 back in the division.
And now the pitchers:

Carlos Villanueva (8-4, 4.11ERA)

vs
Tim Hudson (16-8, 3.33 ERA)

GO BRAVES!

What matters most is that loss column. The Cubs have put a lot of pressure on the Brewers to win tonight, especially going up against one of the better pitchers in the NL. Going up against Hudson and Smoltz in back to back games you'd figure the Brewers would be happy taking 1 out of 2 games. If Hudson can get out of the first two innings without giving up a run I think they pretty much have this game in the bag. If not, it could mean trouble....we'll see.

Counsell and Hardy at the top of the order...do they even want to have guys on base?

Big moment here, two on with Corey Hart up.

Still 1-0 Braves in the 8th.

Bleah.

EDIT: And that is a textbook example of why you don't walk the bases loaded unless you're walking an all-star hitter or unless you've got the pitcher coming up and he's not going to be taken out for a pinch hitter. The danger of a bases loaded walk is just too great, especially if you've just brought in a new pitcher. Terrible strategic move.

Yeah, Atlanta's given this one away. Cox argued but wasn't tossed to my dissapointment.

Game summary said he did, I guess so. I was watching without sound and didn't see the ump toss him.

Yeah, Cox was tossed. Not really sure why he went out there regardless, none of those pitches were close to strikes.
