I mean if we’re discussing McCollum are Barnes/Hield that far behind? lol
Our picks might be more sought after
I’m thinking that at this point the “offers” are nothing but hot air rumors planted by Morey in a desperate attempt to recover value. He is backed into the corner with no way out. Every desperate move now - having Embiid and Doc post nicey nice in their Twitter for example - only makes his situation worse.
Ben has declared he won’t come to camp and he’s not backing off that. Fines and docked pay can’t hurt him - he’s already very wealthy. And Rich Paul (LeBron) is pissed and pulling clients out - never a good sign for a team.
I don’t think that another team can field a mixed package/desirable picks that matches Hield/Barnes/filler and an unprotected ‘25 with maybe a swap that keeps Philly in a real win now mode and fits and balances their roster. Then Sac takes Maxes back too or swings him to a third team.
And I’m guessing that’s where it’s going to end up.
The value only drops faster and faster the closer camp gets and you know that Klutch will be pushing out strategic nasty grams until it happens.
Rich Paul does not bring any any players to Sixers anyways. So he has zero leverage. It’s not like hey. We can do business with my other clients.
Maxey is under team control for the next 6-7 seasons. Simmons next 4 seasons
This isn’t AD situation where he has one year left and Paul has all the leverage in the world to get his client elsewhere. Simmons is paid max money. Not only max money but super max rookie extension money cause he got third team all nba. He can fake a Back injury and take 6 months to recover. That’s fine. Sixers will just sit tight
Regular season doesn’t matter anyways. Health of Embiid is all that matters comes playoff time. Simmons will get traded eventually but it will be closer to trade deadline.
Sacramento will be their usual losing team
Cleveland also losing team
Portland will thread water as 6-7 seed
Wizards will still be 8-10 seed.
Minnesota if they are lucky will be sitting at a 8-9 seed
Depending on health of klay. GSW looking at a 5-6 seed at trade deadline.
Those teams are not going anywhere
A lot can happen from now to trade deadline. The only way I see simmons getting traded is if Embiid goes down with season ending injury early. Sixers will run Simmons wild transition game jack up his stats 25/8/8 with Embiid out than trade him.
