with Blake, Milsap, and LMA we really don't need Love tho

Agreed. With Millsap and LMA we are good with bigs. The TPE is likely on lock for a wing defender if they become available.

At this point I'm not even sure who you'd waive if one were to become available, but it'd have to be either JJ or Bembry.

you dont waive johnson or bembry to trade the TPE for a more expensiive version of them

if we use the TPE, its with Harris for a big time player or because someone got hurt for the year and thus no cut is needed. otherwise, we can afford it

No cap guru but I think you can't combine players with the TPE to get a bigger contract than the TPE itself.

Which likely means TPE will be unused/reserved for a catastrophic injury scenario. I don't think any team is yearning to give up wing defenders for cap space.

its him being put on a poster, but really what stands out most in this clip is that johnson brings things we sorely miss.

Johnson turns it over. he doesnt sulk, pout, or yap at the regs. He turns his head and runs back down court to challenge the fast break at the rim. millsap converts the dunk, but is also knocked to the ground because johnson was physical with him.

The Milsap signing reminds me so much of the Blake Griffin signing. Rumors of his demise are greatly exaggerated. I fully expect Milsap, like Griffin, to raise his level, big time, knowing this is his last chance to win a ring with a SUPER TEAM.

He's gonna be chomping at the bit to be a part of this, small or bigger, every night.

This is exactly what we need on this team.

It is not quite a 1-to-1 comparison.

1) Millsap played on a fringe contender/good team last year. Blake played for the team that was so bad it got the #1 pick.

2) Blake just turned 32 when we signed him. Millsap is 37.

3) Millsap has had a slow steady decline for 5 straight seasons, 4 of those marred with injury. Blake went from 25 ppg allstar to washed scrub after an injury in just 1 season.

alot more evidence that blake wasnt playing hard 1 year off injury for a terrible team, while it appears millsap who has been in the playoffs every year has just steadily declined as he hits his late 30s

that isnt to say millsap is washed, or wont bounce back a bit. but i doubt its to the degree of blake, who went from cripple to windmill alley opps after a uniform change

Denver Fan here. I was a huge fan of Millsap. He is a phenomenal team mate and locker room presence. He was the veteran leadership in Denver that helped change the culture from lotto team to fringe contender.

Millsap's biggest problem is he is a undersized PF who really relied on athleticism to compensate. With his decline of athleticism he became a massive liability on defense. I didn't realize how bad his defense had declined until Denver signed Aaron Gordon and moved Millsap to the bench and reduced him form 28mpg to 14mpg. The difference between Gordon's defense compared to Millsaps defense certainly had a massive impact on Denver.

Millsap is a very intelligent player who can give you a solid 15mpg. I also thing he will bring great veteran leadership to a team with a lot of strong personalities. Overall I wouldn't expect any major actual basketball impact. His defense is gone and a team with Irving/Harden/Durant doesn't need his offense.

For real, he can only take wins off the board, we just need him to shut up, steer straight and accept his undeserved ring just like the guy before him.

I can't think of one player we NEED to trade in order to fulfill a need. We have everything. We're a cheat code. People are still underestimating how valuable Paul, Blake and James are going to be for us as minimum signings.
