Re: Ben Simmons Containment Thread Take 3
Question, who has more value Beasley or Sexton? Sexton a year away from being paid but no off court stuff and slightly more established though both have had pretty high scoring seasons. Sexton more creator, Beasley 40% on 10 3pa per game last year

Wondering what the Cleveland side would think of
Simmons to wolves
Sexton, Beasley, McDaniels, 23 and 26 swaps to Philly
Shake, okogie, 22, and 24 min unprotected firsts to Cleveland

Buddy/Bagley/3firsts(light protection on last)/2swaps
This gives Philly the assets needed to make a run at the next star to come available. I think Philly either wants a star back (seems like it’s not happening) or assets to get a star in the not to distant future. And as we all know, Kings draft assets are gold.
2 unprotected, one lotto protected. And there has to be a third team to take Bagley and Hield and give back a PG.
That being said, Minnesota almost certainly beats any Sacto offer without Fox or Haliburton involved.
What would they be offering? If its not KAT/Edwards, I think most Kings fans would struggle to find a better young piece than Mitchell, if he were being offered (Im not thinking he would be). And if Mitchell were offered, most Kings fans would have that greatly mitigating any picks (for me, to none). I personally would think Morey would be tempted by Mitchell/Barnes/Hield given what might be on tap, but adding picks to it? Someone would have to come hard, which hasn't been on radar yet (again, from a Kings fans perspective) Of course that's what the majority of Kings fans would say after watching Mitchell in SL. We cant know what Morey/McNair would be thinking
But maybe a valued D-Lo gets it done. He'd need to be valued by Morey though. Hes a fairly controversial talent. I suppose he could be a that missing link if Morey values him as high as maybe a few might

Sexton by a mile. Beasley has no value with his attitude.Sportfan73 wrote:Question, who has more value Beasley or Sexton? I wouldn’t hate trying to get both. Swing on two under 25 20 ppg guys. Try to pick up 2 swaps for a little pick ammo as well

Minnesota seems like the best trade partner. Both GM's worked together before.

So assuming SGA isn't on the table (and can't be traded now any way), I was looking at any win now pieces on their roster that might interest the Sixers. And man, other than Kenrich Williams* there is literally nothing. Now don't take that as an insult. As the biggest Process truther there is, I mean it as a huge compliment.
*Don't come at me with Favors.
Even Kenrich isn’t good enough for a win now piece. Generally for a win now piece when we are talking stars trade we are looking at starter / 6th man minimally as accompanying value , but I doubt Kenrich is a sure fire starter on a contender right now . More probably 7-9th man who can step in if one of your starter get injured in the playoff
Favors though is more proven.

it depends on how morey evaluates. personally beasley is safer cost controlled but sexton is like the sexy oladipo who can get you all star return but its a high risk gamble.
but both of those guys are merely salary fodder not a main centerpiece like fox/lavine/hali. im expected multiple picks attached like 23,25,27.

But i hope he goes to Denver. Jokic-Simmons-Murray would be insanely good.
The leverage is not there to get Portland to move Dame for Simmons. You dont get a player of Lillard's caliber for a guy who is literally threatening to sit out the season, who is limited enough to never be more than a #3 and who needs vets like Dame to remain engaged on and off the court IMO.
The only way Dame is moved for Ben is if he does the same thing that Ben is doing right now, that is threaten to sit out. And he wont do that.
I know Simmons' value is at an all-time low, but he's still an amazing talent and a guy that you can build around. But you're probably right that the sixers dont have the pieces to make a deal happen.

both are smartass highly calculated guys wolves are not an ideal trade partner judging their fans already lowballing extreme.
it boils down if there is any team that is desperate to want simmons as their core and im betting at least 1 out of 20 teams.
the trade would have been already done if warriors/wolves gave up fair value for simmons but none are prepared to give up any of the core. i expect a team thats not been previously mentioned to offer the 4frps or a young fringe star judging by the fact that vucevic the most recent one magic got equivalent and simmons is far better asset.
by trade deadline some unfortunate team is going to go well below .500 and forced to dispose assets/star for simmons rather than losing his job security. morey is likely waiting on that and trying to concede to klutch now with a guarantee of a trade. hes not going to get every asset but sell simmons at a slight 10% discount.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Wouldn’t mind getting both of them plus like one first and 2 swaps or something

I think that’s a trade that morey can sell to the fans .
It may be the best around but I’m not sure if it will result in a better sixer team .

It’s just that while Simmons shrink it for sixers on the offensive end , he still brought other stuff on offence and defence . I’m not sure a sexton and beasley combo bring enough on the offensive end to match Simmons overall impact .
Edit: I’m saying this as someone who fully believe Simmons will be traded this season and I can’t really see a trade return much better than this (ie no fox from sac … Best they can hope is getting Anthony edwards from Minnesota or Davion Mitchell from Sacremento with Barnes as salary filler )

How is that trolling. Just last month we had a group of people telling us here that Ben locked and don't really have much say. How did that worked out.
If you'd check my post I said exactly what is happening right now, it was given.

Saw some sort of this idea on CBS Sports website.
Denver gets: Simmons, and S. Milton. Simmons, Jokic, and Murray would be a really good big 3. Shake could be the 6th man. Simmons plays the 4.
Blazers get: A. Gordon and S. Curry. Gordon becomes their 4. Nance could back up at the 3 and 4. Curry backs up Dame and can also back up Powell.
Sixers get: CJ, M. Morris, M. Porter Jr., & 2022 1st via Den. CJ comes to run the point, Porter becomes the 3. Morris is a good back up/ spot starter. Then Sixers have 2 1st rd picks in next year's draft.

Morey played himself and now will face consequences. Ben and Clutch won't play around and force a trade to any team. No GM will bid against himself. As time goes on return will diminish.
Some people seem to not get it with Ben. He sees himself as a frenchies player whether most agree or not. He has no doubt that he's top ten player. Not that he's wrong imo. He looked very impressive during times when Biid was out. Spanked my team during PO without Biid.

Hornets making out like bandits.
Sixers are dreaming.
Don't love it for the Pacers, but I can never tell what they are doing.

OKC, Minny, Mavs and Grizz might look into it if price is right.
Portland only team that might take a gamble due to Dame situation. Although I really doubt it. If anything they'd rather rebuild imo.
