Where is this death wish coming from? Abbott and the republican Texas legislature are destroying Texas and I don't know why.
When an ideology is faith based and in the case of evangelic Christians they have an 'end times' mentality that they fit everything into. They are actually seeking and trying to produce thorough their actions an armageddon like scenario because that's what they believe is 'true'.
They not only have a death wish for themselves, they have it for everyone and everything, they want the whole world to die because... god. There's no reasoning with this and no amount of widespread suffering can change it for them because that only supports their belief.
They can do the most horrible things and yet they are 'forgiven' and 'good' because god and if others who don't believe like them do the most selfless things helping in any way they can it doesn't change that they see those others as 'evil' and going to hell....because god.
Talked to a guy here in Florida who was from Jersey City, a musician who was a boxer and ran nightclubs, covered in scars, IOW he ran with a crowd and did and saw some things. But now he’s a holy roller and it doesn’t matter what you do or say, it is what you believe. Believe in Jesus. That’s all it takes. Doesn’t matter if you do evil things as long as you sign off on the Jesus card. This was the same guy who didn’t believe there is any such thing as being an asymptomatic carrier of a virus. To him, you’re sick or you’re not, end of story and if you are not visibly sick you can’t spread it. So fugging stupid. Of course he isn’t getting vaccinated. It’s all in god’s hands.

Maybe I should clarify my words because I know and embrace faith in my own life, with faith someone can find meaning and peace which comes from a sense of well being. Faith transcends all religions.
I could call these other types of people 'zealots' because they are just believing a religious dogma that they want to force everyone else to live according to....even if they don't adhere to it themselves.

"Faith" in a secular or religious way?
I don't believe in a religious "God" or "Allah" as in someone made in our image who is personally involved in each of our lives and who judges us when we die. But I do love soul, gospel, and spirituals. Weird.
I now believe that we're way too insignificant in this universe as we now understand it. The earth is 4 billion years old. We're like fleas living on a Lion that will shake us all off one day. Maybe sooner than later.
Do you think that his life has any intrinsic meaning?

Good luck and good health. Keep us posted on the post-stab side effects. I had 2-3 days of feeling pretty crappy for the first two. Are you getting the Pfizer?

Are We Ther Yet wrote:Got my second shot Wednesday. My daughter brought home the Delta virus two weeks ago. She was sick for about 5 days. Not too bad. Lost taste and smell...had a fever. Slight cough. Feels better and bake to work.
My other friend had it too during the same period. Same thing. Couple days under the weather...couple days no taste or smell. Both were always in my house..so me and my old lady were also exposed. Neither of us got sick. We never even tested. Just did 10 days in quarantine. Whatever.
Good luck to everyone... vaccine not not. I'm over all of it.

I had Pfizer and minimal reactions. The day my 21 year old son got his second vaccine, he worried he didn't get the real thing because he didn't even feel it. His fever and malaise the next day convinced him, but it was mild and lasted 24 hours. My younger son had minimal or no reactions to the Pfizer. My wife had Moderna and had arm pain and malaise starting about 8 hours after the shot, lasting about 24 hours, each time.
My worst reaction was to another vaccine I had 2 years ago - 101.5 fever and chills for a day.
On the whole, I'd prefer any of the above to gasping for breath and living my last hours on a respirator.
