Reggie would have been phenomenal, had his health allowed him to continue.

He’s my favorite player of all time. Very silent. I was watching the game he collapsed as a kid. He was my favorite player then and has stayed that way since we never saw his full potential.

Absolutely, but they didn't count steals or blocks. His 5 MVPs, when only players could vote (no media voting in his day) sum it up. Officially Russell was like 15 ppg, 22 rpg, 4 apg but he probably averaged 3 blocks and close to 2 steals in his prime.

He was great, i was in my teens when he was coming up and i remember the year following Birds retirement, he was the leader of the team and they were still dominant and more of a defensive minded. They still had Parish and McHale who were in their late 30s but productive, then they had Dee Brown and Sherman Douglas at point, and Kevin Gamble who was a great shooter. You felt like they could still contend and build something after the greatest team ever assembled was slowly bowing out.
The Celtics won exactly 1 playoff game in 8 years following the death of Reggie. As bad as we think we have it now , There were some dark times as Celtics fans.

dat multiverse where Bird and McHale's bodies don't get ground to dust because they got Bias backing them up instead of bums would have been smooth transition from one great era to the next. imagine bias w/ that 90-91 run n gun team? in dat garden of forking paths dee brown doesn't get injured. brian shaw doesn't become a lil ol girly boy about a little rough treatment from management. u got bird for a few more good seasons then he passes torch to bias. and of course just let reggie cont to grow into the mane who would b kang.
