With camp invites of Morgan and now Kornet, and Hauser already on a 2 way contract, and Kanter and Fernando under contract, does anyone think the FO is sending a message to G. Will and Parker? Lot's of options for the second and third team 4 and 5's now, after Timelord and Horford and of course Tatum.

I believe that Tatum is getting probably like 33 minutes average at the 4, and Timelord and Horford will split probably 40 minutes at the 5. That would leave around 15 minutes at the 4 and 8 minutes at the 5, and some rest days, and injury concerns. We have Kanter, Fernando and Kornet going after the minutes at the 5, and Parker, Grant, Hauser, and Morgan going after the minutes at the 4. Going to be a fun preseason watching how this plays out. Kanter is not going anywhere, he was just signed, as was Hauser. Maybe we have a trade coming involving Grant or Parker if the guarantee his contract.

Perhaps.

But I think less of it is sending a message and more it is being realistic knowing that Grant and Jabari just aren't that good at basketball so why not explore some other options. What the hell, let's get all of these guys into camp (Bruno, Grant, Hauser, Juancho, Parker, Morgan, Kornet) and let them compete for roster spots. Let's see how good each of them really is, while at the same time filling up our Maine roster..

-Morgan looks decent in limited footage i've seen.
-Parker's contract is not guaranteed (well, a small part of it has already been guaranteed but a lot of it is not guaranteed yet)

So I figure Morgan and Parker are competing in camp for the 15th roster spot.

Between Morgan and Parker, which ever one gets the roster spot - if they play well enough, they could even end up getting regular rotation minutes over Grant and maybe even over Juancho (if he gets hurt or if his defense is really bad)

Hauser is a 2-way and the 2nd 2-way would either go to Morgan/Parker (who doesn't make the 15 man roster) or Kornet. Kornet could be a decent guy to put on the Maine team on a 2-way. It doesn't make sense to carry 5 centers on a 15 man roster but Kornet could at least get called up to the big club if we really get screwed with injuries to our bigs.

Kornet was better than expected and would be a good use of a 2-way slot if he'll take it.

These two guys will battle it out for the last 2-way slot. The other will head to Maine.
I'm hoping Morgan can show something. We already know Kornet is not an NBA player.

Kornet can't become a Two-Way, unfortunately. He's got too many years, in the NBA.
I can see him coming in on a regular NBA contract, though. He could replace Parker, who's on a Non-Guaranteed.

Kornet supposedly can play the 4 & 5. And he's a 33% career 3-pt shooter.

I think it is wrong to assume Grant and Jabari should be worried by these signings. I think it reflects the reality that our top 2 centers will be lucky to play 60 games each and neither will average more than 24 minutes per game.

That means there will be 30-40 games where backups will be expected to log 24 minutes.

I don't think Kornet is mobile enough to play the 4. He's 7'2" for crying out loud. The only other guy 7'2" or bigger who's ever been able to play the 4 is Porzingis and he's much more mobile than Kornet and a much better shooter.

I actually think Kornet is a legit solid 3rd string center. Problem is, we have al, rob and kanter who are all clearly better than kornet. bruno vs kornet, i don't think anyone can see at this point who is better for certainty, but what we do know is bruno is 3 yrs younger and way more athletic so has a better upside.

It doesn't make sense to carry 5 centers. I am pretty sure there's at least a handful of teams out there who do not have 3 centers who are better than Kornet. Detroit is one, San Antonio is another, Toronto could probably use him, Orlando could probably use him, he'd be a 3rd string center in Chicago, etc. that's just off the top of my head.

I agree. Horford, Timelord and Kanter are locks on the roster for the 5 spot. I don't see ANY of these three playing the4 unless an extreme emergency. So with Tatum getting 30 -33 minutes a game, I see only 18 minutes at most, and for the VERY few games that Tatum rests being available for the 6 guys battling it out in training camp.
That leaves Hernangomez, Fernando, Parker, G. Will, Morgan and Kornet, all battling for the 2 backup PF spots on the roster, and maybe the last 2 -way spot. (This also doesn't include Hauser, who is already locked up on a 2 way spot.)

Grant Williams needs to come into camp, blow everybody’s socks off, and show that last year was a sophomore slump. He’s got some skills, but the lack of size and athleticism is not going to cut it on a much deeper and experienced team this year. He’s going to have to outplay several other options now, whereas last year his main competition for playing time was Semi, Javonte, and backup time at the 5.
Hey you! Can we come together?

I wonder if we're going to add anyone else to Training Camp?
We still have 2 Roster spots, for the 20-Man Offseason Roster.

So, let me get this straight (hard to keep track of all these end of the roster moves):

2way contract: Sam Hauser
Exhibit 10: Luke Kornet
Possible campers: Anthony Brown, Brandon Goodwin

Did I forget anyone?

Edit: I forgot about Juwan Morgan...

Pinson is a glorified cheerleader but players seem to love him so why not

Maybe he gets the last two-way but he's bad at basketball so I doubt it
