Ahmaud Arbery was on a run in Georgia last February when he was confronted by three white men and fatally shot.

Then-district attorney Jackie Johnson is accused of directing police to not arrest one of the suspects and showing "favour and affection" to another.

Ms Johnson has previously denied any wrongdoing in her handling of the case.

The Georgia attorney general's office indictment claims Ms Johnson "knowingly and wilfully" hindered police officers from arresting suspect Travis McMichael.

It also alleges that Ms Johnson showed "favour and affection" to Travis' father, Gregory McMichael, who was a former employee of the district attorney's office.

According to the indictment, Ms Johnson also failed to treat Mr Arbery and his family "fairly and with dignity" by not disclosing she had sought the help of another district attorney, George Barnhill.

Yes, amazing that she was actually arrested, charged, and brought before a Grand Jury (but not amazing that she engaged in that conduct, unfortunately). This is like a freaking unicorn event. In my case I have prosecutors who covered for the officers involved by taking the case to the grand jury for the primary purpose of cloaking them with "use" immunity so that they couldn't be prosecuted for filing a false arrest report, affidavit of probable cause, and felony criminal complaint. I'm also now preparing a complaint against them and the cops involved to be filed with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Brooklyn.

Update:

Evidence concerning Arbury’s mental health and criminal histories - that the trial court previously rule were INADMISSIBLE at trial - ended up on the courthouse’s website where prospective were directed to get certain information on the case. This is some crazy shyt.

Well, at the very least we have what appears to me to be a conspiracy to commit premeditated murder. There's clearly evidence of a plan which was carried out. Under the law as I recall it (I'm not a criminal attorney by trade and this is from law school) "Premeditation" can be formed in the matter of seconds before the murder.

North Carolina has capital punishment. While I'm against the death penalty for many reasons, this would seem to be an appropriate imposition for this crime. We're crumbling as a society. It's so depressing.

The video helps. In many instances of road rage - committed because of racism, general hatred, or just a criminally violent personality - the victim is killed by virtue of "car accident" - and there is no video to prove who was at fault. In this situation, it really seems to be a situation of they saw their victim and decided to take advantage of a "provocation" to murder an unarmed man. I hope that the jury sees this clearly.
