Tyson chandler, Joakim Noah, Steven Adams

Post#1 » by SlovenianDragon » Thu Sep 9, 2021 4:52 pm

To me these guys are basically all the same. Everyone knows these guys even though they were never that good.

Chandler: Pick #2
Career: 8/9
Started: 886/1160 games

Noah: Pick # 9
Career: 9/9
Started: 512/672 games

Adams: pick #12
Career: 10/8
Started: 524/588 games

To me these guys never deserved to start so many games and really got minutes without question. Mainly just on random reputations? fan favorites? Was there really no1 better?

Whiteside came out of nowhere and ended up destroying the league. I think we had like a 100+ page plus thread on this guy that came from the Y. He has since fallen off but still put up better numbers at 13/11 for his career.

I just dont get why teams dont take more chances on "unknown" players. There has to be a large group of players that are in the NBA that shouldnt be. And i bet there is an equal number of players that arent in the NBA that deserve a shot.

Should chandler, noah and, adams be NBA players? 100%...But not as starters they were and are bench players that got lucky enough to start most of their careers.

And dont come in here with any of that there werent any good centers at the time. There is without a doubt a bunch of quality centers that never were given a chance to grace the NBA. And thats basically what im talking about.

I feel like scouts could be doing a better job.

Two of these guys are Bulls and I don't think Noah belongs with Chandler.

He was the offensive initiator for the 13-14 Bulls as was basically the point center. 5.4 assists per game in an era where games were like 85-95, not 140-120. He came in 4th in MVP voting that year.

He had games like vs ATL with 19 points 16 rebounds 11 assists, which is a fine stat line even for today's inflated stat #s.

Really couldn’t disagree more. In the nba you start because you bette than the next guy 99% of the time. These guys did their job and did it better than anyone else on the roster that’s why they have all made significant millions balling.

Go to some non-nba games or watch some international ball. Most if not Every nba player would be the best player in most leagues outside the nba. I don’t think you get how good these guys are relative to the rest of the universe

I'm so confused right now. Noah had a short prime due to injuries, but was a really good player with a shockingly high MVP finish one year even. Chandler struggled with injuries early but after he got dealt to Dallas in 2010 he had a 6 or 7 year period of being a very effective defensive center/rim runner. These guys were very good centers.

Adams is a step down from them at his best, but still a solid starting center basically his entire career.

And all of them much better than Whiteside.

Chandler was the best of the 3.

Chandler is the one of the biggest underachieving big men I've ever seen.

He couldn't shoot. The majority of his points were from catch and slam.

He only avg. 3.2FTA a game for his career which is sad, but no surprise cause he barely dribbled the ball. He couldn't post up or ever saw him pump fake to try to draw fouls. Seemed like he never had the ball in his hands for more than a second or 2 it took to dunk.

I always thought he had more potential on the offensive end, but seemed like he just said **** it and concentrated on defense.

Noah was pretty good. He was a walking double double that played good defensive, before his knee injury. Even won defensive player of the year before he got hurt. Went downhill from there.

After Whiteside got paid, he didn’t really care anymore.

Yeah I’m sure the media has a narrative for Noah to finish where he did. This is such a foolish argument the fact remains Noah was a better player than Whiteside. All Star, DPOY, but none of those matters because ‘media’.

I would rate Adams quite a bit below the other 2. Those other guys were perennial DPOY candidates and far superior athletes. Noah was an elite passer that teams could actually run the offense though while Chandler was one of the best PnR bigs od the last 20 years. Both would look even better in today’s league.

Wow. What a really bad thread. Noah and Chandler had nice careers. They were injury prone and limited in ways, but they also knew their limitations (this is part of intangibles, something Whiteside always lacked).

You could bring up guys like Zaza, Asik, Miles Plumlee, Perkins.. but you bring up all-defense caliber bigs instead? Go off bro

Noah had a top 5 MVP finish, he's definitely better than those other guys, he's also significantly better on the offensive end.

The bigger problem night have been that the Heat paid him right when his type of Center was gradually becoming obsolete. It happened to Dwight and others as well.

That the point. These dudes are heavily overrated for what they have done. Like HUGE.

You can see it in this thread and ur post.

People LOVE these dudes and i knew i would get backlash.

But man ppl hate the truth. They really weren't that good.
