Not really. Okafor is much more naturally skilled offensively. And dumber defensively. Felicio likely has better length, despite being a touch shorter. Of course, Felicio is also rounder.

Cousins can actually hit the 3 though. Issue with him has always been attitude. At least Jah (by all accounts since he left Philadelphia) keeps his mouth shut and doesn't ruffle feathers.

Cousins is certainly past his prime but let's not kid ourselves, he's unquestionably still of a higher quality than Jahlil Okafor. I know Okafor is a big name to Chicago locals but we really need not bother ourselves with the idea.

I would prefer Vonleh at this point, rather than DC or Okafor..

Kicking the tires on Cousins is not at all a bad move. Though i bet he goes to a clear cut contender.

I think he'd do a good job of playing the Vuc role offensively for 10 minutes a night? Not what I'd say this team's priority needs to be at this time but not something I'm against.

Was comparing to Felicio (responding to erlim who named him and was talking about him - hence the reference to Portuguese).

Vanderbilt signed for 3 years and $13.8m, so that ends that for now. You might notice that would be tradable into our TPE, but as far as I could tell there were really never any rumors linking us and him. Too bad, for now.

I like Vanderbilt, but we've signed too many similar guys for that to have happened. I'm still rooting for us to dump Stan and nab a SG after roster cuts. I just don't trust Coby to be healthy and play well enough not to have a backup SG that can shoot.

He's either going back to Barcelona or straight into retirement. Looked pretty much done last season, too.

Done, maybe, but still probably better than Bradley offensively.

I think people are underestimating just how washed Cousins is.

I just watched a bunch of Simonovic highlights from the summer league. Not sure if it will work but they are setting him up in the Vucevic role.

Roster from what I can see:
Ball / Caruso / Ayo / Dotson
Lavine / White / Green / Thomas / Thompson
Derozan / Troy Brown / DJJ
Williams / AJohnson / SJohnson / Cook
Vucevic / Bradley / Simonovic

Its almost comical how many 6'6" to 6'8" athletic wings the Bulls have. Maybe 8 or 9. I think there is a pattern.

The competition for playing time and even roster spots is going to be interesting.

I don’t think so.

I really appreciate that the new management went "all in" this sumer.

But why did they sign dwarf after dwarf recently and 6'10 to 7'0 PF/C Isiah Hartenstein now signs an unwarranted camp deal with the Clippers (meaning we could have signed him easily) ???

They're obviously up to something. Otherwise, they'd probably kept Gafford last season. I mean yes we did that to get a veteran big in Theis (AK thinking we could make a playoff push). But do you know what Theis height is? Yup, 6'8". And he got us TBJ and Javonte as well in that trade, 2 versatile defenders.

I think it's obvious now, whatever system AKME and BD is building, they seem to value versatility and multi-position player more rather than tall big bodies.

Here is what our final depth chart could look like, I think. We could swap a pf for another shooting guard, that is about it:

2021-2022 Chicago Bulls Depth Chart
  PG SG SF PF C
Starters Lonzo Ball 15p 5r 6a Zach LaVine 27p 5r 5a P. Williams 9p 5r 1a DeMar DeRozan 22p 4r 7a Nikola Vucevic 23p 12r 4a
Rotation Ayo Dosunmu Coby White 15p 4r 5a Derrick Jones 7p 4r 1a Alize Johnson 5p 5r 1a Tony Bradley 7p 6r 1a
Rotation Alex Caruso 6p 3r 3a Javonte Green 4p 2r T. Brown, Jr. 5p 3r 1a S. Johnson 4p 3r 2a M. Simonovic
Lim PT Devon Dotson 2p 1r 1a Tyler Cook 5p 3r 1a
Lim PT

cut players Matt Thomas 3p 1r

You have 19 guys, which two do we cut? I would say the two shooting guards. We can play Brown at sg a bit, possibly. or play Ayo at sg possibly.

Several of these guys seem like camp invites. I could see Dotson, Thompson and Cook going pretty easily. The cut after that would be interesting.

IMO, we have Thompson, Cook, Thomas and S Johnson are competing for the last roster spot and 2nd 2-way. Honestly, I'd like to see Thomas get the 2-way and wait for someone (better) from someone else's roster to free up.
