If Dalton didn't get sacked there, he was throwing 5 yards short of the sticks.

The Bears had one explosive play today. Dalton gets rid of the ball quickly, sure but he also makes zero plays out there outside of what the defense is giving him. The defense gives him these throws because they don't care about him because he's not a threat.

34-17 Rams. This secondary is gonna be chewed up and spit out by a lot of teams IMO.

FYI there no games this week.

So close! If only Nagy hadn’t attempted a 4th and 15 prayer.

Shocking when you cut your best corner and juggle through journeymen to add to an already mediocre secondary, your defense isn’t going to be good.
Who knew?!?! Oh, anyone that has a handle of how football works.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong

The Rams were toying with us all night. Bastards.

Eddie Jackson and Khalil Mack… better be paining this loss. Both got exposed.

Dalton is not winning us any games. He can only beat defenses that make mistakes. He can only win if the D plays great which I’m not counting on.

someone might say "oh it would be nice to have a starting cb or left tackle or right tackle," to which i say, how could you conceivably replace jimmy graham's production of 1 reception for 11 yards

The way they beat us, it’s almost as it they said “you aren’t going to do anything”. We gave a weak attempt and reality set in. We weren’t going to do ****.

Reminiscent of MJ mind games with the defense.

I mean…yeah. But the state of the O-line in pass protection mode has a lot to do with how fast the ball gets out in terms of playcalling. Justin will help with that. He can die too.

i'm really not worried about fields behind our offensive line. the line is bad, but it's not unreasonably awful; dalton got hit like 6 times and he's andy dalton. fields might be worse about getting the ball out quickly, but you have to trust a qb's ability not to get himself killed. if you don't put fields out there then you're giving up on every play in the playbook that requires time for a route to develop downfield

The only excuse I can conceive of is if the Russ stuff was real and Jimmy was a reason why Russ was looking here. They had him out there for maybe 15-30% of the snaps from what I can tell. Holtz/James played more and I'd like to see Jesper out there over Jimmy as well.

Hopefully Borom isn't out long.

Ill probably put him out there too. The other young QBs got hit today. But I am not sure. I was down when Peters was up, as long as he was up. But once we (predictably get down to 5th rounders and practice squad linemen, eh. Its a push. It wont fix the problem and kind of dangerous.

I mean the offensive identity was very much so David Montgomery today, so I'm not too upset.

If they go to Fields in week 4, run this and let him make plays on playaction it'll work and he won't get killed. Let him do a little backyard football/scramble drill stuff and who gives a **** about wins and losses this year.

Ok so I’ve heard we are in cap hell going into next year. Can someone please explain it to me?lol

At this point I’m more worried about my defense than I am the O-line lol

the good news is, if the defense keeps performing like that we don't need to worry about finding a way to keep anyone

if you had paid attention to the broadcast, collinsworth mentioned on multiple occasions that the rams defense gives EVERYBODY those throws. they simply don't want downfield throws. that's their basic strategy: dare teams to throw underneath or run the ball

there's no need to slander dalton as a means to puff up fields. if fields's game is all that it'll speak for itself

dalton's INT was horrible. even if not tipped it didn't appear to have any chance of being completed. he made a throw into coverage shortly thereafter that was nearly picked. after that he was nearly flawless - accurate, going through his progressions quickly and getting rid of the ball quickly, even a couple of good scrambles...the one other significant mistake i recall was the 4th and 15 at the end of the 3rd where he went to mooney on the sidelines, whose route was short of the sticks. i believe that mooney was forced to do that due to double coverage, but it may have been a mistake on his part. either way it was awfully ambitions for dalton to think he could complete it at all, let alone get the first down

i think he didn't want to indict the defense or santos. they didn't let santos attempt a lot of long FGs last year either. and even had he made it, which i think he would have, the defense would have had to pitch a shutout in the 4th in order to avoid the bears having to score 2 TDs in the 4th
