I find it strange nobody gives Bolmaro a chance to be any good. He was selected 23rd overall 2 years ago and after a very successful last season he easily might have gone lottery this year. With the way people value draft picks you'd think everybody here would be going banana boats over the guy. If we drafted a 19 year old guy with only 1 yr of college 14th this year all the talk would be about how great the guy is. Yet this guy had a great year playing with men in a better league than our NCAA.

I just find it all a bit odd.

It is a standard 2+2 rookie scale contract. Only the first two years are guaranteed, so sometimes they are reported as two-year deals.

I agree, the first source that I posted just got the contract info years wrong. Either way I am now convinced Bolmaro is coming.

Why any doubt? Rosas said in an interview 2 months ago that Bolmaro was coming over this year. He also considered him to be like our 1st rd pick this year.

The doubt was related to the first source. I shared it because it was interesting but I had no clue about credibility. It was in line with a different rumor I heard about him visiting Minnesota and possibly signing his contract. But Klomp made a good point about the 3 year part being suspicious. So I wasn’t sure. But with separate confirmation that sealed it for me. It was always way more likely than not, that double confirmation was the thing to get me over the doubters hump.

Ah, gotcha. Sometimes there is so much bs flying around it's tough to know.

Exactly. Especially when 5 other articles all confirm but on further inspection are quoting or sourcing the original story which may or may not be true. The line between fact and rumor in sports stories can be very thin sometimes.

Was there ever an official signing? If not yet, does that play into any possible trades? I know nothing about the timing aspect of moving players, but my recollection was the Wolves had to wait on the Wiggins/Love trade because Wiggins had signed his rookie deal.

I don't believe there has been a signing. Tells me something might be in the works.

I'd much rather part with him over a young guy already on the roster, if that's the option.

And if something is in the works trading the rights to Bolmaro is significantly more convenient than trading Bolmaro while he’s under contract for a good handful of reasons.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

I don't know what Rossas has up his sleeve with Bolmaro and/or Beverly (trading or keeping) but it would be nice to have Pat Bev teach some of his tricks to Bolmaro for a season as I could see Bolmaro playing the pest defender/ball handler role in the future.

I didn't think about it at the time, but the delay could've just been to maintain maximum flexibility during the Vanderbilt and McLaughlin negotiations. Bolmaro is a fixed price. There's really no harm in waiting until the last days of the offseason.

1. Do we keep him with the main roster or send him to the G to adjust to NBA pace?

2. If we do keep him on the main roster is he a rotation player right away?

3. What position do we use him at?

1. Definitely will see a lot of G-League time this year

2. Probably not unless there are injuries
