Like, he didn't lose any trade (but didn't outright win any either), he didn't make any terrible FA signings, but he can't build a cohesive roster for sh*t

He's not the worst exec, but he really doesn't bring much to the table. Especially since what he does do you could easily find a replacement for.

I would usually provide a modest defense but... demerit.

That's fair

Perry never provided a modest defense either.

Evan is going to fit in sooooooooooo much better with this squad, it really isn't even close between him and Demar IMO

If true, it tells us the only shots Perry is calling are the ones his bartender pours for him. He is merely a cog that answers to Leon and his boyz

Scott Perry is Isiah-level bad as an executive.

Of course DeRozan was a Perry target....thank goodness he's not the one who has final say.

I get he isn’t great but he can keep his mouth shut so everything doesn’t leak to the media. That alone is worth keeping him on the roster.

Outside of trading picks for the husks of great players, I can’t think of anything that has been more detrimental to this team than every damn thing leaking. No leaks is a beautiful thing.

- Randle is seriously going to put up 25/11/5 next season
- Barrett is seriously going to become an All-Star and put up 22/5/4
- Walker returns to All-Star form and put up 22/3/9.
- Robinson is a top 2 candidate for DPoY along with Embiid and goes for 13/12/2 blocks
- Bench becomes the best bench in the league with the improvements from Quickly/Toppin along with elite rim protection from Noel and super sub Rose.

This team is deep, and seriously looking to push past from 1st round exit to Conference Finals contender.

I think we can win 25 games of the first 20.

Yet they still play the same way. Two of the worst defenders on our team and Bacon passes just as much as Payton.

The question is, why is he still here? Dolan's mole?

Well, I doubt that Rose wants to do the tedium of the day to day duties being the GM of the franchise so somebody is going to be in that position for the Knicks. If Rose and Perry have a good relationship it might as well be him to keep some continuity in the FO.

As a former agent Rose probably doesn't have quite the same dynamics with FOs as Perry does since he came from that side of the table so it could be a good idea to keep a friendly voice around to reach out with because he so well liked around the league.

Also if Perry has proven to be tight lipped with the media he's not a liability in that way either. Contrary to what some think he's not Isiah level bad, he was just mediocre in value and talent assessment but didn't make any huge blunders either, actually seems like probably a decent negotiator.

Keep him around to make calls, push papers so to speak and be a voice in the room on matters but surely don't let him make the final say on anything. I don't know if he's a mole in the old way Dolan had those around but maybe is the guy he calls when he wants his opinion known to Rose and Co.

He sucks as much when it comes to roster construction, fit etc, but doesn't have all of Zeke's "spend like a drunken sailor" tendencies.

That's the good part of Perry.

Also, there had been some back and forth on here on how roster decisions are made and it seems to be a "committee" approach, but the consensus was that Thibs probably had the strongest voice.

Assistant Regional Party Official Thibs has seized control of The Central Planning Committee.

Low key, I think Thibs basically runs the org with Rose.

Around the edges. And that's a good thing. The main vision is Thibs, with Rose granting the thumbs up or down.

Once Thibs completes his slow moving coup, Aller will get fired or "find another job"

Agree with the first point. Aller and Perrin seem to be the other strong voices.

As for the second... BUZZ!!!!!!
