Re: Free Agency Thread
It’s gotta be Cousins. Team was looking for a big. We gotta really stretch the meaning of well known for the rest of these suggestions.

I would assume Cousins, think he was with Finch in New Orleans

Re: Free Agency Thread
The Wolves current roster is one of the smallest in the NBA, so adding a guy like Cousins would make a lot of sense. He may not be anywhere close to the player he once was, but he does have legitimate size for an NBA big and he knows how to play. Using a 2nd round pick to dump layman would be a fairly straight forward way for the Wolves to open up some salary to get it done.
With the current roster, I can already see opponents dominating in the paint when KAT is out of the game for long stretches (due to injury or foul trouble).

My uneducated guess is Anthony Tolliver.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Pineapple juice tastes good, but sometimes I just have orange juice before I read the newspaper.

Apparently Doogie said on a recent podcast that there's a well-known free agent who wants to work out for the Wolves

It could also be Okafor, who was with Nori last year in Detroit. Whether it's Okafor or Cousins, I'm fine with passing on a workout and going forward with Knight. I still wouldn't mind seeing Bismack in town. I feel this team needs some toughness, even if it's just Towns and Reid banging with him in practice.

Re: Free Agency Thread
My guess for this rumor is rather disappointing...
Amir Coffey.
Amir Coffey.

I wondered that too, but Doogie said no.

I don't think Okafor, Tolliver, or Coffey qualify as well known. Isaiah Thomas and Cousins do. Depends on what bar you set for well known I guess.

They qualify as well known, I know this because people have brought them up in response the well known angel. Kyle Guy wouldn't qualify as well known.

Re: Free Agency Thread
There's also James Ennis, who played with Houston when Rosas was there. You always have to look at Houston guys.
Minnesota could waive and stretch Layman (which increases tax room to 3.5 million) and sign Ennis and Cousins. I think Ennis is significantly better than Layman

Thought I read somewhere that Ennis was interested in signing with the Lakers - Long Beach State product

Re: Free Agency Thread
What are the odds that Doogie’s guy is Lance Stephenson? It’d make sense based on his descriptions and wordings.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

I remember when he had a 10 day here, he did alright for us, can't remember why we didn't sign him tho.

Re: Free Agency Thread
At this point I doubt there are any free agents left that the Wolves would be willing to go over the luxury tax line to sign. About the only way I could see them signing another free agent would be to dump Layman using one of the 2022 2nds, and I have a hard time seeing that being worthwhile based on the players still available.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
