Fun player and also made the hall of fame
Larry Bird tried to lure Radja back to the NBA in 98 I believe. Wanted him to join the Pacers. Bird called Dino, and he was apparently very sketchy on the phone and wanted to know how Bird got his phone number. Seems like things are cool now considering Bird introduced him at the HOF but he could have been the difference against the Bulls. Dino could ball.

I was a big fan of Ruffin and Phil Handy at Hawaii. I watched them scrimmage the Lakers in Honolulu in the 90s.

Re: Name the most random 80s/90s/00s player you can think of
Zarko Cabarkapa.
He's one of those guys who would have been a decent player in today's era. Big man who can handle and shoot the ball. He found a home in Golden State in 2005-2006, but got injured in the 2006-2007 season right when Nellie came back to coach. Zarko would have been such a great Nellieball center but he never recovered after that injury.
And for another random player from GSW: Sarunas Jasikevicius. Spelling his name off the top of my head since I'm too lazy to look it up, but I remember him being like a 30-year-old rookie in Indiana and being part of the trade that sent Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington to GSW.
Lastly, Mickael Pietrus. Part of the famous 2003 draft. Air France. Perfect example of having the perfect physical body/potential but not having enough BBIQ. I'd love to imagine there's a universe out there where Mickael Pietrus is in the right situation, becomes an All-Star like the rest of the '03 draft class and becomes the MJ of France. lol.

Zan Tabak. Played a handful of seasons in the NBA and was a respectable enough end-of-bencher. But he always reminded me more of a goon in 1 of those bad JCVD/Jackie Chan B-graders...

I also had a Manual Arts (woodwork/metalwork, not sure what you call the subject in U.S) who taught in Australia for a year in the mid-90's who was John Crotty's brother. At lunch-time he used to come down the courts and play with us, but he was definitely a better teacher than basketball player...
