President Trump told two senior Russian officials in a 2017 Oval Office meeting that he was unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election because the United States did the same in other countries

One has to believe that she is a careful wordsmith when she says they
should be careful about perception as opposed to careful about the reality
of what they do. As long as people don't realize or understand, it's all good.
Bonscott, you're funny. I bet you think you got all those 'facts' from
only the most reliable of sources. Please share what those sources
are so we can be wise as you are.

Notice she's only concerned about the perception of the Supremes; she's perfectly happy that they have - in reality - become politicized. Being concerned more with perception than reality... might be a problem.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXX
This has been a game that Roberts has been playing since 2005. Thomas and Alito don't even pretend.
Kavanaugh is on the Thomas/Alito path. Looks like ACB is going to try and emulate Roberts but she's too overt for it to be convincing, and will not end well with her.
Gorsuch does seem to be an actual libertarian who drank the kool-aid too much and in sticking to principles, he occasionally broken-clocks it when the principles align with the other political party.
Roberts et al understand that the stated principles (e.g. textualism, personal liberties, religious freedoms) are just a mask to advance the political agenda. It's just a matter of how blatant you want to be about it. What Roberts has done is whittle away on case law to make his record look reasonable, but when the big ones strike, he pounces on it; it's basically a "no, but we didn't rule on x, y, z" strategy where x, y, and z are signals to future litigants about how to bring the case in a way that he would rule on it - a delayed process. Thomas/Alito vote along party lines 100% of the time. Kavanaugh is just a pawn for Roberts for plausible deniability, especially now with a 6-3 majority. Roberts can wash his hands by laundering his votes through BK.

Here's some more math about net number of GOP voters who will die because of COVID negligence. GOP apparently views this is a net win because tanking the economy by sabotaging COVID recovery will hurt Biden more than it hurts them.

Republican efforts to sneak one by in California are probably going to fail spectacularly

This is an extraordinarily bad faith effort to pervert the election system to force into the CA governorship a radical right wing lunatic with less than 30% support from the electorate. Shame on them.

I'll be volunteering. Not sure we have a chance with all the voter suppression - we will see.

By effective does she actually mean she has raised more money in inverse proportion
to actual legislation written and enacted? Very effective grifter.

The perverse thing about GOP Covid denial is that for them votes lost due to infection related deaths are statistically insignificant.
They can put their base at risk without any fear of being held to account at the voting booths.

I wish him luck but not sure if Beto has a statewide future in Texas until it’s a blue state. I hate to say it but good luck when Republicans will just reroll the tape of Beto saying “Hell yes, I’m coming to take your guns!”. And I think for a red state like Texas, a Hispanic candidate has a better path to winning state wide as a Democrat.

Sure, that may work in a solid red state like Mississippi but it could hurt them on the margins in states with growing base that isn’t the traditional Republicans. I.e Georgia.
