Ummm, ok. I'll play

Name one thing Jordan or Kobe have been blamed for.

Since you couldnt, now explain why LeBron fans are different?

Actually, ive hardly ever seen any rebuttal to the criticism for 2011.

I've never seen anyone put the blame on him for that.

No, I don't think so. Making fun of him is not the same as solely blaming him. Clearly he has a lot of haters regardless but no one actually blames LeBron for the 2004 Olympics. This thread is hilariously silly

Implicit in the fun making is the idea that he bears blame. There would be nothing to make fun of otherwise.

I've literally never heard anyone blame LBJ for the 2004 USA collapse until this thread was made.

Huh?

Jordan was often blamed for being a complete arrogant a$$hole to his teammates.

Kobe was blamed for a selfish ball-hog who took inefficient shots and didn't make his teammates better.

Ways to say you started watching the NBA after Kobe retired.

Kobe and Jordan caught way more heat from the media than Lebron has ever even thought about.

Richard Jefferson was spectacularly awful, yet kept getting his number called.

Now ask yourself this.... Which one of those is false between those two you listed and the LeBron one

Lebron stans blame him for nothing. Lebron haters blame him for everything. I think it balances out in the end.

I never heard this. If anything I hear Iverson/Marbury detractors bring this up as more evidence how hard it was to build contenders around those two. Also it continues the knocks on Brown's career that he really didn't know what to do with young players. Larry Brown and George Karl really started to wear out their welcome once the next generation of players came around.

Huh?

The OP made a thread about why Lebron gets blamed for 2004 USA failure, which I've never seen until this thread.

In general Lebron gets critiqued for manufacturing his own teams and general pompous arrogance when he self-congratulates himself all the time. Nobody really disputes Lebron is a top 5 player of all time and in the GOAT conversation.

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen, because it does quite frequently on this board and other basketball discussions. It's usually used to prop up Kobe while saying LeBron was part of a Bronze finishing team and Kobe was not. Also it was used a lot when the Dream Team doc came out. He wasn't blamed first hand I'd say, but it definitely has been used to lower him a peg.

3 of the top 5 of the biggest stars at the time weren't present - Kobe, T-Mac and Garnett. Duncan and Iverson were not enough. Both were also trash that year and playing way below their standards. I simply think they didn't care.

Funny thing is though if they played Lebron and Wade more they would have won

I remember the report saying that only 2 players from original invite, accepted invite (Duncan and Iverson). Everyone else was literally a plan B.

That team was better than the one sent this year though...

Amare, Okafor, Boozer
Duncan, Odom
LeBron, Marion, Carmelo
Iverson, Jefferson
Marbury, Wade

I don't remember who the starters were/weren't but that group should have easily won. Crazy blend of size, skill, athleticism, and veteran/youth. Then again, Marbury as your starting pg has never amounted to much.

The person to least blame? LeBron

George Karl hated rookies and loved vets.

Okay, well then I will say I have not heard that before but anyone who argues that is ridiculous because Larry Brown barely played Lebron, Melo or Wade during the Olympics and Lebron was only like 19 years old.

However, legitimate critique of Lebron is his constant need to seek validation and self-congratulate himself or the fact that he manufactures three different teams to his advantage this past decade.
