It is hard to imagine a deal.

Maybe the Clippers want to turn some of their gross mid-sized 3 year deals into a massive 2 year deal.

Maybe Kenard, Morris Sr. Bledsoe and Serge(assuming Serge won’t recover from his surgery) for Wall, Wood and House. Haven’t checked if the numbers work.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Open question: What is the most you would trade, from our existing assets, to not have to take on John Wall and his remaining contract?

If the Rockets were willing to kick in some assets, I'd consider taking him. Only a 2 year commitment. But it's hard to make a deal work given how much he makes knowing the Raps won't go into the luxury tax to accommodate him.

Raptors want no part in Wall

Of course not but they could help facilitate a deal. Not really sure I’d want this but here is an interesting one:

Raps out: dragic, Boucher, Yuta, 2023 2nd, (waive decker, Gillespie)
Raps in: porzingis

We take a relatively cheap flyer on porzingis, if anyone can keep his healthy it’s us.

Rockets out: wall, wood
Rockets in: love, Rubio, Powell

Rockets get better bad contacts and don’t lose picks, maybe be able to flip them for something small

Cavs out: love, Rubio
Cavs in: wall, raps 2023 2nd, mavs 2022 top 20 protected 1st

Cavs take worse money for some draft capital

Mavs out: porzingis, 2022 top 20 protected 1st
Mavs in: dragic, wood, Boucher

Mavs drop kp for a more reliable and better all around rotation/ more future flexibility with some good contracts.

Would the Rockets really trade away Christian Wood, a 25yo 20-10 player, just to unload John Wall?

Picks to be figured out, but here are the players/ salaries:

Toronto
Out - Goran Dragic, Chris Boucher
IN - Christian Wood, Danny Green

Houston
Out - John Wall, Christian Wood
IN - Chris Boucher, Tim Hardaway Jr, Dwight Powell, Reggie Bullock, Willie Cauley-Stein, Sterling Brown

Dallas
Out - Tim Hardaway Jr, Dwight Powell, Reggie Bullock, Willie Cauley-Stein, Sterling Brown
IN - Ben Simmons, Goran Dragic

Philadelphia
Out - Ben Simmons, Danny Green
IN - John Wall (picks, obvi)

I can assure you the Clippers aren’t trading Morris for Wall. Kennard, Bledsoe, Zubac with Zubac rerouted to another team works for Wall works. The only problem is that Clippers have no incentive to increase their luxury tax bill just to get Wall who won’t play a full season and doesn’t move the needle. They’d need an incentive like a draft pick to make it worth their effort.

Wall and Green for Siakam and Dragic. I know Houston would never give up Green to move Wall, but I thought I'd toss this out there for a laugh. Salaries match.

Or swap out Green for Wood or Sengun and include two top 3 protected Houston firsts. Of course Toronto would have to WANT to move off of Siakam and I don't know if there is any reason to do this going on behind the scenes.

Wall is like a run-first quarterback in the NFL whose legs have given out and who has no passing skills to fall back on. Gifted at one thing, but not talented enough to run the team.

It was really telling when Washington had a better record with Satoransky as lead point guard when Wall was injured. I was shocked that Washington gave him that MASSIVE contract since he hadn't shown himself to be a top10 player, let alone be paid as a top5 player at the time. Washington got a bit lucky to get Westbrook in return and get out from under that millstone contract. Harden bolted from Houston when that deal was done as the talent pool had gone steadily downhill from Paul to Westbrook to Wall.

May be better known for his tight rendition of the Dougie in the Wiz pre-game huddle.

It was fire, though. Gotta admit!

yea clips should do it. He's better than Bledsoe, that Morris contract is also trash. Trade Bledsoe/Morris/Kennard for Wall.

Don't understand why folks want any part of that 3 year, $100m contract. Porzingis has looked decidedly average to me in Dallas. Even healthy, he has an ugly contract.
