DPOY can be in reach if he can do that consistently. Expect a lot of deflection steals/blocks. Not sure he can do that for an entire game with such ferocity without picking up fouls or being completely gassed but we will see.

Cool, but hopefully in a couple years time we are watching videos of his offence. How much he improves on that end will determine how successful that pick was.

I know watching Barnes playing defense is exciting, may be I am too old to get that excited I guess.

Perhaps the bright side is the only thing that needs major improvement is his scoring. He has a solid handle so it's not even his whole offensive game.

He will earn minutes with his D. It will be his calling card until he can string some offence together. I have no issue with that from a rook. I think he'll be respectable shooting open 3's on kickouts.

The main thing holding back his minutes will be conditioning. He will need 1/2 seasons to be up to 82 games +playoffs (especially at his intensity).

He has heart and that will endear him to the franchise's fanbase.
