"work" to get himself traded? This is all on HOU trying to beg the other 29 teams in the NBA to trade for Wall's albatross contract. All in all, HOU will be forced to buy-out his contract. John better not settle for anything less than $80MM settlement.
The article states that Wall is at a different stage, meaning the Rockets respect the fact that Wall wants to win now.
But yeah, we all know that Fertitta could care less that Wall wants to win now. But then again, he did care enough for PJ etc.
I doubt they will find any contending team willing to make a trade to gut their roster to match salaries. He also is not in the Rockets future. Keeping him would only hurt their chances to develop their young players.
Honestly, I was surprised they traded Westbrook for Wall since Russ still had value.
In the end I only see 2 options, they either trade him to a team where they have to give up other assets on top or they buy him out. I just don't see a market for him otherwise. Most playoff teams, especially contenders won't want to match salaries. Maybe Simmons if the Sixers really get terrible offers. Could be a very high risk with a very low chance of getting a healthy all-star Wall in return.
