The guy has been so dreadfully "snakebit". Rooting for him to make it.

Think this was always the plan. Only way it would make sense for Houston to hang onto Exum all last year when they desperately needed bodies down the stretch (played a ton of games with 7 available players and an injured guy listed as available to avoid forfeit). They either like Exum the player, loved him as a locker room guy, or like his bird rights. If it's the last option I expect I big human TPE contract here

Alec Burks finally did so there is still hope. :D I just miss the glory days of me creating dozens of threads trading each of them away and Jazz fans patiently explaining to me this was going to be their year. Then rinse repeating the next year. And the next.

I really wanted the Warriors to go after Exum with their final roster spot. Could have played the Livingston role for us.

Yup, used his bird rights to create an aggregate-able TPE

I like it. (though they could have done the same with the MLE and a random body)

Simmons is friends with Exum and this is announced on the day they say they are looking to trade Wall.

I do think Rockets will explore a trade for Simmons.

I'm sure they will, but I don't see anything there between the two teams. Rockets have a stockpile of picks but aren't going to put their own in the pot unless heavily protected. Then the issue is finding a team with a win now piece that would rather have the picks than Simmons

I really love them using +/- as one of the "likely" incentives here, knowing that they'll be so bad he won't hit it lol

Well they would get playoff level with Simmons there pretty quickly I imagine.

Philly would take Wall and the picks. They just need a playmaker back for Simmons along with assets for future trade.

A lot of people seem to think Exum is just going to be used as a human trade exception, which might be true, but I think this is simply the Rockets wanting to have him under contract if he actually plays and doesn't get injured, and having an easy way out of it if he does get injured.

I wish the young man the best of luck. He's flashed enough talent that it's worth a Sean Livingston type of gamble. I also like how the bonus incentives are structured, but I don't believe he's a malingerer. I'm pretty sure he's legit Mr. Glass.

I'm assuming they nailed these down better than they did with that aborted Nene contract?
