Make it so that a max contract cannot be traded until a year is left on the deal. Not a no trade restriction where the player can veto a trade- no trade at all is allowed.

Ben and Morey will talk. Joel and Doc will say some stuff like " we are a family and families have disputes, but we are all on the same page now. And we are asking the fans to support us....all of us." They will talk about how the media distorts a lot of the facts and play a video with Ben saying he loves playing in philly.

Ben will get some boos and Embiid will shake his finger at the crowd and say no. In a month or two Ben will be back in the good graces of the fans.

Then out of nowhere a trade will materialize. Morey will say Ben means so much to the team and the city but we could not pass up this opportunity and we wish Ben well.

Wanting to trade Ben does not equal not wanting Ben.

So far he's tried to trade him for James Harden and probably Damian Lillard.

Two players waaay better than him and ones that would help the team.

If he cannot get those type of players for him, then keeping him is fine.

It's insane that Ben Simmons is this (ocean sized) chasm of being a willing 27% from 3 shooter away from being a jacked up and much more skilled version of a top five playoff performer (12 ppg) from this decade.

Ship this head-case out so he can activate his career second wind & be free.

Shouldn't have been trying to make him into a 3 point shooter, should have just been encouraging his aggressiveness, mid-range game and FT shooting this whole time. It was the poor FT shooting that marred him this last playoffs.

Hopefully wherever he goes next they just focus on improving on what he was doing out of college.

This ridiculous obsession with three pointers, Brown's public demands of shot quotas, all of it missed the real point, which as you said should have been about creating an aggressive mindset. Simply becoming a solid free throw shooter (70+%), developing a couple pet post moves and maybe a floater, and just learning to finish around the rim combined with his defense and passing would have made him a top 10 player in the sport.

This is all moot at this point, of course, but the thoughts of what could have been will always be frustrating.

I blame the 3 point era obsession. Ben in any other time would have been developed properly based on an improvement of what he had organically. Rather than just jumping the guy from 10 footers to 3 pointers without any middle progression

It’s an interesting trade idea but it’s hard for me to see Houston doing business with Morey. Morey is on the **** of a billionaire owner with a massive ego who hasn’t been known to run his team competently so far. I think he’d want to make Morey eat **** and wouldn’t offer any picks lol.

It’s definitely feeling like this will go well into the season and now the only question is whether Ben holds out and/or for how long.

I specifically remember Brown saying he wanted Ben to focus on all of what you mentioned. It’s nobodies fault but Ben’s for where he is now.
