Gorgeous city, wild nightlife, good food -

crime and living conditions were abhorrent. Police offers open-carry Uzi's and I'm concerned walking around people that appear to have nothing to lose.

I went with a group of 14 guys that were 28-31yos. I felt strongly that I would go back with my wife, but not alone - at least with another couple. The thought of her going to the bathroom alone is scary and that's without even considering our 9mo.

Cops in Paris have carried Uzi's for 30 years (maybe they levelled up after). Don't let if bother you.

I visited Mexico City on a bachelor party and came away with mixed emotions, but their population alone should help the team succeed there.

A friends cousin went missing a few years back. Never heard or seen in 4 or 5 years.

Murder rate in Mexico: 29.1 per 100,000
Murder rate in France: 1.2 per 100,000 (for comparison, Canada sits at 1.8)

Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries in the world.

It isn't their fault, they're a casualty of America's destructive meddling during the Cold War, but it's reality.
