I see RJ Hampton as a taller version of Keyon Dooling. He is a tweener guard that is better at the SG. He is a decent defender and very athletic. They Dooling was a 34% career 3pt shooter and RJ isn't that far off at 31%. That is why I think he is better off the bench for us.

RJ has potential, whether he reaches the peak of what he could be remains to be seen but for me i see him being a solid rotation player...maybe close to a 6th man....somewhere around a alec burks type of player...solid

I guess factor in all of the disruptions and complications of his rookie season. No summer league, abbreviated camp, no minutes on a contending team for most of the year, moves to a tanking team with a non-tanking coach, Covid still looming, was unhappy with his Australian situation (listen to TRoss podcast), but he still thinks that if he went to the NCAA, he might've been the #1 pick :o

He's either completely delusional or ready to bust out this season with a full summer league, full camp with a new developmentally-minded coaching staff, and a comfort level with his teammates and role...fingers crossed for him, Big Chum, and Cole to blossom into meaningful roles with a better support system.

728 games played in 13 year season. Here is hoping!

Fine. Short answer... He's trade fodder.

Both Anthony and Hampton are mid to late first round picks. Those are projected as 7-8th man in good cases. We shouldnt expect stardom.

I'm not expecting stardom. I just don't want dumb players. I'll take a smart serviceable guy like Robin Lopez who knows how to play the game rather than guys who play like chickens running around without their heads on.

They need to smarten up, but I don't know if it's in their DNA. Maybe Suggs can help them.

BTW, did we ever have a final confirmation if he really grew 6'5 barefoot or something?

He really seems to lack feel for the game. Doesn’t seem to pick smart shots or know how to really create for himself. He can make reads and cut reasonably well off the ball but seems to fall apart when he’s on the ball.

I see the guard version of AG in his play in that regard. If he settles he could find a role as a 3&D guy with some spot creation ability off the bench. Or maybe he’s just slow to put it all together and he blows up this season? I just hope he follows Suggs’ lead and not Anthony’s.
