TJ Ford without the quickness.
Calderon without the shooting
FVV without the strength.
Cory Joseph without the Canadian citizenship.
Milt Palacio? Chris Childs?

He's our 3rd string pg. Can be an ok backup if we're getting star level play from the starting spot.

The FVV without Strength comp is the one that applies there.

The Calderon and Ford comps don't work at all because they played no D.

Flynn's entire draft class got the shaft. End of college season cancelled, no summer runs, no summer league, shortened off season, then jump into a shortened NBA season. By the time he got the work in from above the season was over. I put no stock in the last season for anyone in that class which includes Achiuwa and Flynn. Lamelo Ball was one not playing in college and doing his own thing and was one of the only stand outs. That's no fluke.

This is their real start. That said...he still has so much to learn and is still very raw.

We need a bigger sample size. Last year was a crazy year with people in and out of lineup. I would like to see if he can get some rhythm with PA and or CB in P&R or P&P with Chris.
I think if he has a more predictable role this year and both FVV and GD keep helping him we will see a very competent Backup PG that will only get better with reps. His Def will be good with all the talent he has on that side of the ball.

I liked bench mob Delon Wright but Flynn is far more impressive in the compact dribble department and sporting long pull up Jays. If he gets help from Goran that will be huge. Fred is going to have his hands full.

Y'all honestly don't watch games if you're knocking this kid lol its so funny.

These are some obvious things from watching him play:
1) he doesn't play scared, he ain't a lil B, ya know what I mean? More like a killa b, shaolin style, mean.
2) cant rattle him. He don't give a ef about you or anything that you do ft. E-40. When you see this dude sweat from the defense trying to speed him up? Nah, imma do me says Malachi. Oh you got stuck on your screen? Splash. thanks for going under bro.

You know how there are some players that are just born for the "moment"? You know the playoff Rondo, playoff Iggy, playoff Norm, those types. Yea Malachi that dude. Half the league looks nice during the season and shrinks comes big games. Y'all also starting to notice that Masai actively looks for this characteristic? That's why ya better start trusting that man if you haven't been.

OK so in limited playing time and first year into the league with Tampa Bay Raptors, Malachi didn't do so well. In fact he did so bad last year that he effed around and got a rookie of the month.

Yall bunch of clowns for speaking ill of this man. Some of you just haven't endured the Grunwald, Babcock, Colonjelllo eras to understand what it's like to have really bad prospects and player development.

Huh? Was he not shooting much better in summer league? His shot looks much quicker and ready for scoring now. I’ve been impressed with his confidence and work put in to speed up his jumper. He’ll be fine.

Completely different players, but Delon (a) was never a confident outside shooter, and (b) shied away from contact, especially after his separated shoulder injury. But I'll never forget his clowning of Oubre in the last series against the Wizards. He was a guy who showed up in the playoffs.

Malachi wants to shoot the ball in clutch situations. He's the anti-Simmons. I like his attitude. The potential is definitely there.

Malachi looked better in SL than he did last April when he won Rookie of the Month. The most interesting developments to me were the confidence/release in his shot and his increased strength. He already had an advanced hesi-game and great feel on both ends, so it was exciting to see this improvement.

I'm optimistic about his trajectory.

Ppl tend to forget or act like that never happed but he was a rookie of the month, and had several decent/good games for him and everyone else to project off of. If your 29th pick is able to win rookie of the month then I think we did alright.

Probably should've been on a rookie team over okoro or J-tate all though those guys had more burn than Flynn

I personally like his upside. He plays hard and with a chip on his shoulder. I think he will be an excellent back up with starter potential. He was drafted 29th so he's met my expectations. The thing he needs to work on the most is his handles and court vision. Do you remember when Powel could not even make a layup. Hard work pays off and this kid has the tools to be good if he wants it.

Kid has the perfect amount of pressure. He's expect to play and contribute on a regular basis, but not at a high level. If he doesn't improve this year, then its on him.
