and are you comparing a individual rating skill to an overall rating...we are talking apples to oranges.

Defense is one half of the court.

But the DEF rating only makes up one individual def statistic. There is DEF rebounding, steals, blocks, IQ, fouling ect...all incorporate along with defense that make up a players defensive skill.

There are still some other BaF SIM stats I have yet to figure out but may be related to defense.

At the end of the day its the superstars that win championships. If they happen to be great defenders ( Leonard, Embiid ) the better. Role players, both offensive and defensive, have their place; but I think most of their impact is minimal.

I want to add a defensive role player to my bench. But I don't think there is anyway a role player is going to put me over the top. Nope, I need another star.

Buzz, imo, your concerns are better directed towards the developers. I'd be happy to co-sign. Mid-season updates, in particular, would be quite valued. We can only work with the platforms we are given and I would not support changing platforms. I'd still far prefer it overall to, say, 2k for reasons already cited but there is absolutely room for improvement.

I haven't been keeping up with the thread today.


But the sim is the best out there. But I do think a mid year update would be ideal.

The developers need to catch any crazy outbreaks or major dips.

And weird anomaly ratings.

The case for butler being the best defender can easily be made. Not sure why he's not at the top with others. That's a joke.

Butler is a fantastic defender. At this point in his career I don't think I could make a case for him being the best defender in the sport.

Personally I don't think he's the best defender on his team.

maybe. and you're probably right because of his age. most of it is me talking **** because he's my favorite player, and he's on my team.



but bias aside, if you tell me to pick one person to guard the best players in the NBA, right now, to guard them on the final shot of a game, butler is one of my top 3 picks. bam may be the better defender at this point, but i'm still picking jimmy down the stretch

I think DI is discipline. So I guess that is not going for fakes or guys that draw fouls.

He's def in my top 10 Convo that's for sure.

You have bigs like Gobert and Bam who are elite.

For perimeter play I would probably say Simmons and Jrue holiday are the best.

Giannis and AD are just all around great defenders.

DRFL--Drawing Fouls (higher ratings means he will be fouled more often)
DI--Discipline (higher ratings tends to mean he will foul less)

You're definitely right. There are plenty of top defenders. Jrue was nasty. Destroyed booker and Paul mentally

Hopefully it works. Sounds like they made some changes under the PC interface that inadvertently impacted what you are trying to do.
