It's kinda funny that T'Wolves fans think the Sixers are going to get so desperate, they'll trade Ben for a felon and a journeyman just so MIN can keep their core together. Nothing that has come out has suggested this, especially from someone like Morey.

Yeah, we're probably end trading him for peanuts, yeah we probably lost the option to add another all star. But even guys like Harden and Davis with all the leverage in the world reported on their teams and, even when not playing, were forced to train and stuff.
Good luck to Ben trying to get another big contract after this. This just kamikaze non sense stuff.
Nothing has changed since yesterday or the day before or etc etc
Btw, Harden didn’t train (while dissing his teammates) and AD sat on the bench wearing a t-shirt trolling the Pelicans
Both were way more ugly than this
Seriously. This report isn’t significant. Klutch doesn’t have leverage. They dread having him sit out because he will lose money and leverage, so they want to apply as much pressure as they can regarding the “Ben won’t report” stuff.
Camp is very close, so they want many reports about Ben not reporting, and to make it appear as chaotic as possible. Ben will not show up on time, and may take a few fines and arrive late in an attempt to show how serious he is.
Ultimately, this report today is the same report they keep leaking.

He was never coming back
What’s more, if the Sixers wanted him to then maybe they should try talking to him
But they’re not even doing that
Lmao he's been ghosting them since the end of the season. They can't get a hold of him! Just shows his maturity.
He’s literally been training with Maxey for months
Can’t get hold of him?
Suuuuuure
So even though he has requested a trade and reportedly refuses to talk to Sixers management, him training with Maxey indicates the Sixers can talk to him?
In reality, he wants a trade, engaging in a dialogue with them and appearing open to staying, will, if anything, decrease pressure to trade him. Of course he isn’t going to engage in dialogue with them about coming back… because he doesn’t want to come back.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4
Shoulda traded Ben when he cried foul when Butler had to take the reigns and didn’t get a contract. We even mismanaged him. The warning signs have been there since College.
In a sinking ship it’s about collateral, leverage and saving face.
It’s getting closer to zero return is actually better than having Ben. Culture > an individual. It sets precedence long or short term.
I get Morey’s play (right value if not in season) but his hand has been forced for awhile.
Should have been a deal a while back.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4
its never Ben's fault.
Always someone else's problem.
This franchise is full of **** ups but at some point you'd think even his most ardent defenders would realize the common theme here. Again I don't even blame him for wanting out. He would get killed here unless he returns as Ray Allen lol. I wouldn't want that smoke either. This isn't even me calling him soft or a coward...that is some super heat that no one could withstand. But even beyond that, it is simply probably time for a new start for everyone...so wanting out is for the best for all parties honestly. Its the lack of admittance that he has issues that gets to me. Blaming the fans is dumb. There are idiots in every fanbase. Danny Green got death threats from Lakers fans ffs. Blaming Doc's comments is dumb. He spent all season sucking Ben's dick and the moment he went "idk about him being a championship PG or not" is what caused him to cry in the car? A statement that at the very moment was true because we were going home to the **** Hawks lol. And it was just one play...sure...but it wasn't really. Dude coming up short against the Celtics year one? Easy to wave off. He was a rookie. Team was playing above their pay grade anyway. Against Toronto? Sure. Nick Nurse is a great schemer. Makes Biid cry in the corner too. Kawhii is elite. Fine. But we are talking about the Hawks...in which Gallo was his primary defender and a play in which The Human Lollypop with cat hair stuck to it was on him...That inexcusable man. And yet here we are and his fans are trying desperately to defend that by blaming everything but the man himself. I don't understand how anyone could but here we are.
Embiid had a role in the loss. He ran out of juice. Always hurt. Reverted back to his turnovering ways. Doc is a bad coach. Tobias reads books. Morey thinks he's Basketball GM Jesus....all of these things are a factor...and should also be called out. But the fact that some are really in here and on twitter trying to spin this away from Ben is just nuts to me.................like we had a dude trying to say 11ps a game was good....all the while ignoring the fact that dude shot 31% from the goddam ft line as a professional basketball player. Like what are even doing here lol.
ANd look I wish Ben wakes up. Fires Adele's boy toy and we can make this **** up **** work...because I can forsee the **** **** we will get in the eventual trade and this aussie poopy head going elsewhere and thriving lol. But holy ****...the stannery is just insane rn.

I think Morey will wait until he finds an offer he will like.
And that’s what I want. Fine Ben Simmons, don’t take trash offers. Play without him. Tanking one year is as good of an option as it gets, as we are not beating Nets or Lakers anyway.
Actually, the only thing that really bothers me is Maxey situation. I hate that he is Klutch silent as well. I want him to be a part of Sixers for a long time.

I am stanning for a guy I have wanted gone since the end of the season

Right now the Sixers have no Simmons and no trade
Meanwhile, virtually every one of our eastern conference rivals have improved their rosters and considerably in some cases
Fkn brilliant management

The Sixers don’t have leverage here simply because you want them to. You can’t fine this guy for the whole year lol, there is NO precedent for this. Morey waited it out as long as he could, but now the jig is up. He overplayed his hand on a diminishing asset, get the best deal you can now and pray Maxey steps up in a big way.
This is nonsense not only can they fine him for four years they have a pretty good case that by withholding his services that his contract shouldn't toll which means they could fine him indefinitely.
Which I'd be more than willing to watch happen as a fan rather than take a garbage offer.
Use your head. They’re not going to fine him for four years, let alone one. It’s just not going to happen, I don’t care how long his contract is for. The nba isn’t the real world, sorry to break it to you.
We will see. What Simmons is trying to pull off is beyond ridiculous not only for a player of his calibre but also with his contract situation.
Eventually teams need to take a stand and if the offers are as bad as reported than really I have zero problem with it. I'd be more upset if the Sixers took a garbage offer than played hardball with Simmons

This isn't a situation where we're shortchanging a player or we're not willing to discuss the max with him. The Sixers are willing to pay him his enormous contract and try to bury the hatchet . Everything that's happening right now is Ben's doing. This does nothing to the image of the Sixers around the league, unless the opinion of Rich Paul and his client base matters.
It's funny because my main worry was he would show up like AD pout and disrupt team chemistry that could force the sixers hand to take a bad offer. Right now I am more than happy if he truly wants to be traded and won't be professional to stay away from the team of his own volition
Not only because he doesn't have to get paid but it just makes everything so much easier to not be there everyday. He is actually doing the Sixers a favor by holding out it removes the distraction

Not in this city lol.
The team will tire of being asked about Ben every time. Puts a lot of pressure on his replacement too
this will get ugly and the sports media in this city are going to love it lol

I get that it would be a PR nightmare and the fans and media would be brutal, but despite the fact that many here have pointed out that simply not paying a player holding out for any length of time is unprecedented in the league, what is to stop the Sixers from taking that stance if they have the stomach to deal with the media and fan onslaught?
I mean, what can the league or PA do aside from applying their own pressure if the Sixers decide to play Simmons' infantile game and refuse to make a bad trade? I'd have to believe that the sixers would be privately applauded by every organization for having the balls to stand up to one of these prima donnas.
