Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Otherwise if Kai developed quickly and could hold down the 4/5.
Kai
Ben
Bridges
Rozier
Ball
Could be sexy.
If lebron and wade could co exist, so could Simmons and ball. They can share the ball enough

Hard no for me. Waaaaay different proposition than pairing LeBron and Wade. We (hopefully) have a shooting version of Simmons to build around. There's no need to get a guy that'll take the ball out of Melo's hands. I just can't see how it'd work, whatsoever.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Washington and Ish Smith for Simmons should be enough. Joel would teach him a lot…and when you have two big men who are SKILLED and play BIG, it automatically makes it easier. In fact, Ish Smith would probably average close to a double double on a team like that…assuming he started.

I used lebron and wade as examples as they were both ball dominant wings not known for being dead eye shooters, but they got it to work. They are 2 of the greats, so extreme examples but still an example of it working

Fair enough bro. Although I would say that the shooting of lebron and wade is still leagues above ball and simmons as it appears right now. Simmons refuses to shoot outside of 5 feet, at any time, period, whereas LeBron and Wade have both had countless game winning shots and aren't afraid of any moment. To win in the NBA, you need closers who want to take that final shot.
As an aside, we're all in the same boat hoping Melo can stay respectable from 3 so that defenders have to play up on him. If he can do that as his baseline for shooting 3s, at least for the next year or 2, that's a win for him IMO.

Eric Gordon would be a great addition to the team. His salary is too high unfortunately for us to realistically work out a trade for him.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I'd trade for Simmons just for the potential upside of it.
He is basically a 6-11 version of Ball. We'd need to find a shooting C to pair with him though. PJ is actually a really good fit with him, but we'd need to trade him to get Simmons.
Simmons for Gordon and PJ.
Or we play Simmons as a center.
Ball
Rozier
Arnold (for shooting)
Miles
Simmons
That's probably the best starting lineup we've ever had from a pure talent prospective.

Simmons is a quitter and is selfish. He's regressed if anything from when he got drafted. He's crapped on both his national and NBA team. No thanks. He has the most wasted talent in the league.

He is a multiple time all-defense player and All-Star.
If anything, he is exactly what we wanted MKG to be + elite passing.
I agree that he hasn't lived up to his potential, but people acting like he is some scrub isn't accurate. It all depends on his mentality. If he is locked in, he can average 20/8/8. If not, he'll average 10/8/8. Basically the difference between All-NBA production and Draymond Green.
Maybe the embarrassment of a playoff series he had will finally put a chip on his shoulder.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I will HAPPILY take Draymond deluxe if that's all he is (and with his talent he can be a lot more). He's a transformational defensive piece. I just don't think we're in a position to trade for him anymore, we might've been before the draft but picks seem to lose value like a car you drive off the lot (the second the pick becomes a player)
investigate Adam Silver

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I'd be willing to trade for Simmons on two conditions:
1. The cost doesn't exceed one starter + two future 1st round picks.
2. He clearly communicates before the trade he is excited to come to Charlotte and committed to making it work.
The hate has gone too far on him, but at the same time as a small market we can easily get bowled over by stars and agencies if we're not careful. Our chemistry is amazing right now, we don't need anyone coming in and teaching Melo it's a me-me-me league (even if it actually is).

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Simmons embracing a Draymond like role strikes me as a fantasy. He wants to be the primary ballhander. We already have one, he was the 3rd overall pick and just won rookie of the year.

The way Simmons has acted since he's received some legitimate and well deserved criticism shows me he's toxic.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Now if the Warriors get crazy and want to send the actual Draymond out in a trade for Simmons, Kupchak should absolutely look into that. Along with Butler, Chris Paul, and Lowry he's a guy that can transform a locker room. Having both him and Rozier around LaMelo they would be worth their weight in gold.

I just can't stand Draymond...I'd be absolutely devastated if I had to root for that guy.

Too bad we don’t have Graham and Zeller right now. We sure could have traded them together to Philadelphia for Ben Simmons.

This has got to be sarcastic? No way the 76ers would touch that offer. They don't want to take McCollum, Covington and 2 number ones for Simmons. That's far better then Zeller who signed for the vet min as an FA and Graham.

Any realistic offer from us for Simmons would probably have to include Ball and Hayward and thats a big no from me.

Pacers and Simmons talks are heating up. Wondering if we can swoop in for a three way
