all of this is damage control and an attempt to regain leverage.

Morey.
Show everyone you’re moreyball by finding cheap replacement for Ben while try to extract as much value as possible.
I suggest going after appreciating assets that the current asset may not be as valuable as Ben but is likely to have an asymmetry in value favoring us in the future.

At first I was sad that the guy who overpaid for DLO was fired...
But if Brand goes to the T'Wolves, then fleecing in a Ben trade is back on the menu boys!

Ben would have also perfectly fit the Bulls, Ive mentioned it before. And Eversley have a bias on him.

I'm not counting out a LaVine-Ben trade yet. It makes less sense now that the Bulls have acquired two guys (who we should have considered) that are ball dominant distributors with shooting issues in Ball and DeRozan.
Additionally, a Coby White, Patrick Williams, Troy Brown, and Derrick Jones + picks for Ben could possibly entice, but doesn't really fit what Morey is targeting. Would also pretty much give the Bulls a championship or at least an easy ride to the ECF.

Damn, T'Wolves promoted Sachin Gupta. IIRC, he was one of Hinkie's guys and, as Sam put it, the driving force behind all of his trades. Probably savvy enough to know not to go after Ben.

Good, they really have nothing I want in a trade anyway unless they go nuts and put Edwards on the table, which isn't happening.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread part V
I, for one, do not want to be involved in a trade with Gupta, the brainchild of the Kings trade/pick swaps.
But this is all very, very interesting.

Ben fit with Vucevic would have been even worse than the one with Joel.
But who knows, probabl they would not trade for Vuc with Ben there

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread part V
Lol. Can we get some more T'Wolves fans in here telling us how bad Ben's trade value is while their star is disgruntled? Might need to do another makeup trade to keep him happy.
