I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Your statement is 100% accurate.
I think my post was going more towards the thought of how a guy with that pedigree, could end up in a situation where his reputation has fallen so badly with fans, media and presumably other teams. If I were Atlanta, Dallas or some team looking for that 2nd or 3rd star, I'd be working hard to take a chance here.
Surprising Por isn't sticking their nose in at all
What makes you think they haven't? I'd imagine tons of teams have been in touch to see where Philly is at in terms of compensation.

Well yea, sure. Bad phrasing I suppose but I just mean there hasn't seem to be any chatter on them and don't seem involved to the best idiots like us can know. Exact type of team that needs a shake up and would be worth gambling for young star player.

Also on the Lowe pod, Bobby Marks and Zach were wondering why the free agent frenzy tampering stuff hadn't been resolved yet with the league. That Ball and Lowry issues are still out there.

I'd assume Portland has had McCollum on the table for an even swap for quite some time now. And Philly probably says no, we want Dame. And then Portland says no Dame, it would be CJ, and maybe we'll send you back RoCo, but you include Maxey.
In the meantime, some other team is going to sweep in and finally get him I'd think.

Probably because I haven't watched the wolves less than a handful of games since KAT has been around (or healthy), but I think they should trade KAT and DLo and start over now. I may be out of my mind.Ron Swanson wrote:Yeah, he continues to make too much sense for the Wolves. If Minny can't make a D-Lo/Edwards/Simmons/KAT core work then they're probably gonna have to blow it up anyways and just build around Edwards and picks. Just get any competent 3&D wing in there with those 4 and you should in theory be a playoff team with upside. It's well worth the risk and they have win-now assets that Philly would want (Beverly, Beasley, Reid, Okogie) as well as all their future picks.

Wolves problem is similar to the problem we had under Herb Kohl. The culture literally prevents winning. Not a fan of the guys on their roster at all, but Glenn Taylor has been a terrible owner.

There will be a low-key announcement after opening day about a paltry $50k fine or something. Carry on, nothing to see here.

Maybe Morey wins out and the Wolves end up trading a stupid amount for Simmons
If Rodriguez and Lore really are 'fond of Sixers general manager Elton Brand' that would add a whole other layer to it too.
Or Rosas got busted banging an intern and after an investigation had to get fired.
From that vantage point, if the Wolves' aren't trading for Simmons it'd be a fine enough time to cut the cord, however KAT tweeting WTF doesn't make it seem like this was any sort of savvy crisis pr play.

Yeah do the Sixers really hold out for Russell? Do the Wolves can their POBO for refusing to trade him?
You'd think the KAT factor alone makes his value to the Wolves greater than anywhere else.
That and if Morey does make a deal with Minny it's all about the future picks which he can hold on to until the next star becomes available.
DLo isn't moving any needles. An extra first round pick and added cap flexibility (Beverley and Beasley's deals would be easier to use as trade chum) seems more valuable from an asset standpoint.
Or these teams are collectively desperate and frantic and maybe everyone loses in some crazy deal here.

John Collins and Reddish and some picks in a few months might look pretty appetizing to both teams.

KD supposedly vetoed the Kyrie for Simmons deal that BKN was close to completing.

Atlanta has a lot of different pieces they could put on the table.
I’m not sure about the fit though. Would there be enough ball for both Trae and Simmons? How do they manage having both Capela and Simmons on the floor?

Re: ATL - Camps Open 9/28
I remember proposing Ayton, Bridges, Jackson for KAT on draft night. I’ve just never been in on the KAT hype train. Incredible offensive player who hasn’t put in the work on defense. He jumped at everything in college and put up some impressive numbers, but the pros are so much harder you can’t get away with doing that.
My new hypothetical would be KAT for Jaylen Brown + Pritchard. I think Boston is looking towards Beal as their SG of the future and Beal/Tatum/Towns would absolutely light up the scoreboard.
DLo
Jaylen
Ant
McDaniels
Naz
6th man Beasley
Pritchard
Bolmero
Layman
Prince
Okogie

Re: ATL - Camps Open 9/28
Philly is just going to have to accept that Simmons has very little value with that contract taken into consideration, or at least nowhere near what they want. If they let this play out they’re potentially tanking a season with a seemingly healthy Embiid.
Portland by far makes the most sense, and I think McCollum for Simmons works great for both teams. I’d play Simmons at the 5 if I’m Portland.

McCollum fractured his back last year. Betting on an aging undersized guard is already a gamble, betting on one with a back injury is just doubling down. I don’t see it happening.

I feel Simmons would have been perfect on the nets. Would have made the backcourt a plus on defense and would've become a slasher with KD and Harden drawing away attention.
