He is in a poor spot here.
Everyone in the league knows he doesn't even have leverage in his own organization to make big moves given the ownership change.

He will be fired sooner than later without having a chance to restructure the team according to his plans.

It’s the end of an era. Still remember the day Rosas got hired

It’s only been two and half years and the ride is over

Maybe the recent events will help this board to understand that Rosas wasn't the Golden Knight chosen by God to put the Timberwolves back on the map.

Just giving my .2 cent on another irritating fiasco in the history of the Timberwolves organization.
Feels like they are known more for off-court issues than basketball at this point.
I will be gone again sooner than later.

Some interesting stuff in the ESPN article

Sources close to the situation told Shelburne that incoming owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez had been evaluating Rosas' performance this summer and had planned to relieve him of his duties at some point. According to sources, that process sped up the more they learned about the deterioration of his relationship with Gupta and after evidence was brought to them about a consensual romantic relationship between Rosas and another team employee.

While sources said the organization does not believe the relationship violated any of its internal policies, the Timberwolves planned to conduct an internal investigation after they were made aware of it this week.

Taylor, who is transferring ownership to Lore and Rodriguez over the course of the next two years, made the final decision to relieve Rosas of his responsibilities on Wednesday, less than a week before training camp opens.

Gupta, who sources said had been barred from the facility by Rosas after the two had a falling out several weeks ago, was subsequently elevated to interim president of basketball operations.

The Wolves are planning to conduct a broader search to find a permanent replacement, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Yeah if that's the case then maybe Gupta will be the actual replacement. If there's that much beef.

I think the timing of the firing was also quick because Gupta was actually looking for a new team. If he left - especially if he also took someone with him - would have left the cupboard bare to replace him. The Wolves might have had to go with Finch in a dual role or someone with little experience like Branch.

Having Gupta on staff made the move so much less stressful.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2948670-sources-timberwolves-dismissed-top-exec-because-of-affair-with-team-staffer

"Rosas and the woman were seen kissing in a suite during a Minnesota United FC game last Saturday at Allianz Field, sources said. The soccer club was told to reserve luxury seating for several Timberwolves players and personnel, including assistant coach Pablo Prigioni. Two seats were filled by Rosas and the staffer."

That may be. Sounds like Rossas kick him out of the team facilities.

It has to be a little awkward coming back not knowing if you are even going to keep your job. Also would not help if he comes in and screws something up, it will be hard finding another job.

He only comes around to complain. I am still waiting for him to make a positive contribution to the board.
