Redick retires, but I'm betting he stays in game shape and goes ring-chaser after the all-star break.

Wife wants him in Brooklyn but after watching the title run, he wants to play with Jrue again. :eyebrows:

So he "retires" to spend time with the family in Brooklyn most of the season. Before coming next year to help get it done in Milwaukee.

Redick is past the point of helping a playoff team. Nice career though and he squeezed it for all it was worth.

He does seem happy as a clam doing his podcast, living the life in NYC, and enjoying the fine dining there, but if he can re-fresh his body and wait till game 50ish - so he'll be fresh and ready for the playoffs while everyone else is aching - knowing this is his last chance, I can see him do it. He'd probably prefer doing it for Brooklyn, but maybe the Jrue connection you mention appeals to him. I do see him being a media star in the future - that podcast is good, and players like and respect him.

This is totally a Redick move. He was probably getting only vet min offers, so he'll wait until February and see who the title favorites ultimately are at that point. Why bust your ass in camp, covid travel, etc. for what is likely would be almost the same net paycheck.
Heck, he can spend the winter in Miami if he wants.

The Roger Clemens special. It's a nice gig if he can do it.

Redick could still be an effective 16 minutes per game guy.

Redick was bad in the regular season for 2 teams last year, no way he could survive in the playoffs another year older.

Like Korver, Redick is probably an ok guy to have around the team at this stage of his career but likely to give you nothing on the court.

I’m still of the attitude of f that dude forever.

He couldn't be any worse on the court than Korver was in that last year for us

Korver was the consummate professional though. The worry about him airing dirty laundry on his podcast or dogging it because he didn't like his current PT situation was never there. Reddick can still shoot it obviously, but like others have said, he looked completely cooked athletically last season.

Korver was also 6-7.

ESPN's NBA Rank has Jrue at #22 and Middleton at #19. Giannis is the only other top 100 guy. Their top five in some order is Giannis, LeBron, KD, Luka, and Steph.

The guy who's played 40-games in 2 years and went 0-6 in overtime while losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs is #1 on ESPN's list. Predictable.

I think that's SI's list. ESPN hasn't released theirs yet.

But yea, there's some eyebrow raising **** on here.

Virtually anyone who was any good left SI a long time ago. Authentic Brands bought the name but it's associated with garbage "content". Everything is clickbait now but that's their whole business. 99% of the internet is lists.

Luka in the 6-10 range sounds about right as opposed to the love he gets on this site, but it's getting hard to ignore the play-style bias that plagues the mainstream media. Putting Lebron and Steph ahead of Jokic after the season he just had is insulting. But really, casual NBA people just absolutely love their "dribble-dribble-crossover, step-back jumper" guys and it's painfully obvious based on how much of a bump they give some of these dudes (KD, Curry, Tatum, Beal).

Update on WD:

Donte DiVincenzo, Bucks (torn ligaments, left ankle): DiVincenzo underwent surgery in June, and is not yet cleared for camp. With P.J. Tucker gone to Miami, the Bucks will need the fourth-year DiVincenzo to return to his starting two guard position with Jrue Holiday in the NBA champions’ backcourt. Pat Connaughton is the likely replacement until then, but DiVincenzo’s bounce and floor spacing will be missed.

Yeah definitely doesn't look like Donte will be ready to start the season. Anyone have any insight on how long his injury typically is?
