Him & DLo are super tight so the move would probably be To trade Edwards which doesn’t fit Philly’s timeline. BUT a 3-team trade becomes wayyy easier if Minny is willing to send Edwards to a 3rd team to get Ben.

Maybe POR, WAS, CHI, or some team with a potentially tradeable star gets off to a bad start and is more willing to deal. It then becomes much easier to entice a team like WAS to go full rebuild and swap out Beal for Edwards + picks so Simmons can get to Minny. I don’t think it’s super likely but it’s the only realistic scenario I can imagine that gets Simmons to Minny.

I would much prefer Edwards to Beal

I’d be thrilled at this point to get Edwards but I don’t think Morey feels the same way. He’s been pretty clear during his career that only true stars move the needle and Edwards still has plenty of question marks. Morey is star hunting and I doubt he’ll settle for anything less than an established All-Star unless he’s absolutely forced to.

Lakers started their dynasty with Shaq at age 27 and Kobe at age 21. Embiid is 27 and Edwards is 20. Timeline stuff is overblown.

Where is the Edwards info coming from? A month ago, Edwards was totally untouchable and absolutely out of the question. Not even his name to be mentioned in conversation. It feels like we just recycle players to talk about trading for. Or is there a rumor floating around about him? Not to be a dick, but at this point i'd be excited if we trade Simmons for Eric Gordon.

Shaq was way more durable than Embiid. And he played in a post-centric league were the pyhsicall toll on big man wasnt as important. Today centers have to run up the floor, drive to the lane and dunk, go out and guard the perimeter, etc.Its very taxing for huges bodys like them.

There is no way Embiid stays this dominant for 3+ seasons given his injury history. Hell, he even is starting to decline a bit defensively.

Also, saying Edwards is going to be Kobe is a little too optimistic uh? Of course if hes gonna be Kobe we trade for him in a heartbeat, but hes more likely going to be Stephon Marbury or Baron Davis than Kobe.

Morey has a list. Don’t count Ingram out

And definitely don’t count out a 3 way deal.

We all like Maxey but Morey has Embiid. “Windows” open and close very quickly and the “Window” only opened because of Embiid and no one else.

White, Murray (stinks he’s no good), Vassell and picks that’s all well and good for any other time... not now that won’t get you to the big dance.

Teams spend decades without the “Window” opener they don’t just rock up ever year.

Who knows Harris might be on the table too (one less year).

I think the only player/pick off the table is really Embiid that’s it.

Every year should be win now mode.

I doubt McCollum is on that list. Ben would be gone already.

Wolves/Blazers here’s hoping anyway:

Blazers get Edwards (Rebuild)
We get Lillard (Compete)
Wolves get Simmons (Hand, forced). Remember the GM has this scenario:

- Lose Towns or keep him with Simmons. Lose Towns, lose DLO and Edwards is left by himself. Most likely leave. Edwards is a Klutch agent. Franchise player for the Blazers? Sounds a lot more enticing.

Blazers then a have a big kickstart for their rebuild. Maxey is probably gone too along with Korkmaz and picks.

Everyone wins. Picks, extra players included.

All of it lines up perfectly. Look at the contracts and what’s at stake here.

To be fair, no info has really come out about this other than unreliable rumors from random places on the internet.

But that doesn't stop other team's fans from stopping by and presenting us their worst offers. I suppose their info holds more water.

- You can't "Giannis this dude" because he doesn't want to get fouled nor is he no where the finisher.

- Doc is out of touch and obviously enamored with the idea of having a huge "guard" who does alot of things well but is not obsessed with scoring. Instead of telling Ben to be aggressive he doubled down on him not scoring or shooting saying he doesn't need to all season. Than when he does just that in the playoffs and team is upset his whole tone changed post game lol

I disagree with everything said except that Ben is talented(role player tho) and doc is clueless .

How many years in the NBA do you have compared to Gilbert and Barnes? Thought so.

0 years playing in the NBA but a functioning brain and two eyes that can see.

I think you should see an eye doctor at a minimum and if yours eyes check out a neurologist b/c then you know it's an issue with the brain.

I've noticed that Raptors fans on these boards always have more +1 than they do actual posts. Does your entire fanbase just circle jerk each other's posts to make yourselves feel smarter and more relevant as a fanbase?

Just curious.

again love Jo

but if he's going to break down in 3 years like many claim

then getting a potential future star is even more viable.

That was actually Ben's main pro IMO. He was the iron man who would gracefully take over for Biid declined.

Didn't work out that way lol but still..

I think the Jo decline is overblown a bit too.

He won't be the same dominant guy but he has been trending towards a more groundbound and finesse style game anyway...and honestly taking away the wreckless dunk attempts might actually help him lol. People bring up Yao...but Yao was bigger than Biid; medicine was much worse and he got ran into the dirt by China as they tried to win Olympics and FIBA.

and then there is the fact that 3 years is 3 years away. You don't make rash decisions based off of 3 years. For all we know Korkmaz can decide to be Summer League Kork all the time and terrorize the league in 3 years.... **** happens. I mean two years ago many of the same people raging right now were against trading Ben for Kawhii. **** changes. Going all in now for a slight improvement at best IMO doesn't seem smart to me. CJ would make us better now....but if/when Biid breaks down and CJ is 33....and we aint win ****...I'd rather at least have a few young pieces to pivot with than a full rebuild IMO. The process was needed for these exact reasons....team kept going for the win now guys..capped out..had **** all to show for it. I mean **** if we had some of the picks used for Jimmy and Tobias and then to get off of Horford right now...the Ben trade might be easier to make.

That being said....Edwards is not on the table lol..so all of this is moot.

It makes zero sense. How does Ben fit with Jokic, Gordon AND MJP? Murray is needed to space the floor.

He fits if Curry is going with. Only way that makes sense. Denver would be dangerous

Raps fans post more quality and light hearted posts and don't take ourselves too seriously. We're just a fun bunch.

Jamal Murray and Maxey would actually be a lot of fun.
