While Embiid is a decent 3FG shooter and has a bit of a faceup game, it's not in the same realm. The only thing that doesn't make sense is Aaron Gordon on that team, otherwise Will Barton, MPJ, Jeff Green, Monte Morris, etc are all excellent 3pt shooters. The tandem distribution of Jokic and Ben would get those guys a ton of open shots. Also, Ben still won't be looked to as a scorer, so he can continue to marinate in his complacency. It all works out!

Their 3FG percentages are almost equal on equal volume last year. Not to mention that the reason for Joel almost wining the MVP last season was the fact he became an elite face up shoter and has a letal midrange.

Ben playing along Jokic would make Doubling Jokic on the post a valid strategy, something that is not possible for teams to do currently and the basis of his entire success.

You're right, I guess I felt Jokic was a more prolific 3pt shooter since I only really watched him in the playoffs where his 3FGA ballooned up to 5.3 while Embiid's basically stayed the same. Also, he seemed like more of a face up center and even the point guard for much of the game, which is completely different than Embiid. Embiid would probably spend more time in the post if we didn't have Ben.

I think it can be a way more symbiotic relationship with Jokic than it is with Embiid.

It needs to be Ben for Beal already...Beal can't really appreciate losing that much, can he? All this is moot if he signs his extension on 10/17.

Maxey/Milton/Springer
Beal/Curry/Joe
Green/Thybulle/Korkmaz
Harris/Niang/Reed
Embiid/Drummond/Bassey
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

If Denver will do Murray for Simmons, I would do that. Murray is supposed to be back by New Year's I believe? And if not and he has to sit out all year, Jo can get that clean up surgery as well. So it's a win either way.

I don't see Denver doing that, but maybe they are really sold on Porter? Jokic, Gordon, Simmons, Barton, and Porter in a starting lineup is very reminiscent of Embiid, Horford, Harris, Richardson, and Simmons though.

Beal is waiting on that 5 year 35% max deal in the offseason that he can only get from Washington. Once he signs that, he'll be asking out in short order. But not before then.

I feel like there’s a law somewhere that says Sixers studs will inevitably end up being traded to Denver. Iverson. Iguoudala. Simmons.

“There’s times that I think we’re getting through,” Rivers acknowledged. “And there’s times that I think that I’m talking to people who still believe Trump won the election. So I’m not sure, but I’m going to keep trying.”

I don't care about Ben coming to camp really, but Doc, lol.

That would be a pretty big gamble. Porter has not shown any shotcreation chops yet. He's strictly been an assisted scorer, up until this point.

Losing Murray leaves them in a huge shotcreation void. Their best creators left would be Rivers, Campazzo, and a rookie (Hyland). Not a great spot to be in if you fancy yourself a contender.

Maybe exclude Shake, but I was literally just playing around with this on the trade machine. It seems the most equivalent in value. Seth is a top tier tertiary player, even with his warts and he'd be the piece that I could see Denver fitfully coveting in a Simmons swap.

Monte Morris is a cool bench guard, no real standout qualities.

Denver could bank on Bones Hyland being their future at the 1. Morey gets Joel Embiid his co-star in Jamal Murray who is shutdown for the year on full rehab duties.

Hyland/Rivers
Curry/Barton
Simmons/Uncle Jeff Green
Porter/Gordon
Jokic/Bol

Sixers sly tank into a top ~5 pick. Which is either used in a huge blockbuster deal on draft night to form a Murray/Embiid/Star Wing trio, or we draft our OKC James Harden who develops organically into an undervalued star on a deep squad that's contention ready.

So you're saying comparing Ben Simmons to insurrectionists wasn't a good move?

want some more fuel for the fire? 16 hours ago Ben landed in Denver on his Instagram story, now 38 mins ago he’s driving around Colorado

I could see them trying to be completely unorthodox and try to be a huge lineup with Ben and Jokic run the PG position. Move Gordon, start:

Simmons
Barton
Green
MPJ
Jokic

and just hunt the mismatch in the post.

Wow, you weren't kidding. Add to that Doc is comparing Ben and his team to insurrectionists, I'm thinking Jamal Murray might be a Sixer by next week.
