can he possibly swim to maintain endurance and conditioning? How about lots of curls and arm work and bench pressing and maybe some rowing machine stuff or rowing. I bet he can stay in shape somehow. Can possibly do lots of situps. Maybe he can do wheelchair work. ha. There has to be something he can do.

The Bulls are in for a trouble when the actual games start.

God forbid a player practices to improve his game in the off-season.

Also there's no allegedly about Lauri being injury prone, that's fact.

Chicago basketball starting early.

He'll barely miss any regular season games, the issue is that he's a very young player and he's going to miss valuable offseason workout time and training w/ the team.

I guess DJJ starts at PF?

I don't know if the word "severe" came from this sportswriter, or from the team, but anytime I hear this word it must be bad.

Funny that our 4th best player has a minor injury and everyone is saying "here we go again" or "only the Bulls".

This is standard.

I'd say he's at best our 5th best player. I've never been a Lonzo fan but he's clearly better than PWill by a pretty wide margin. You could argue that Caruso is better than PWill too.

Doesn't bode well for team chemistry a month before the season starts ....

He can continue to work on his handle. Lots of ball-handling drills can be done w/o putting a lot of stress on the ankle.

Hell, get him a Rascal, set that thing zooming to simulate dribbling at full speed.

Somebody stuck it in there for effect. Hard to believe the Bulls would say anything other than it was a 4-6 week ankle sprain.

Yes, I like Pat and he's a big part of this team and especially this team's future moving forward, but this coming season he's likely our 5th/6th option. If he can propel himself to becoming a 4th option, we're way ahead of schedule and our future will look quite bright.

Snapshots in time re: production. I doubt the Bulls would trade Pat for either one of those older, more developed players. Question can be revisited later.

No problem, we have players that can pick up his slack (which isn’t much atm) until he gets back.

Yea severe would seem more like a 10-12 week injury

What I'd like to know is why did the Bulls organization wait almost 10 days to make this information public?

The loss of Pat to start the season IMO is more about limiting his development, which is probably the linch-pin for our ability to contend down the road than it is about wins/losses without him to start the season.

That said, I think Pat has gotten a TON of offseason development in with the combo of team USA and summer league.

Coby's injury was much more detrimental, as he didn't get any real offseason work in.
