Saying he's still in pain is definitely odd and concerning.

Who knows, could just mean that it hurts when he squats 200KG. It's enough for me to change my mind on betting on him wining MVP this season though.

But he won Finals MVP, playing his best ball ever with all of that pain.
I do think they'll be playing the long game again, with an eye to playoffs & Finals. VS MVP, accolades, RS record.

What a stupid question in the Eurohoops article, "would you trade the NBA championship to have another conversation with your Dad?" Seems like the exact opposite thing you should ask someone like Giannis.

He was in terrible pain in the first two games against the Suns. He said that he is still in pain and that only a couple of days ago he had his first proper practice after the finals but he will be fine.
With which channel was the interview? ERT, Skai, Mega ANT1?

I'm sure he still has some knee soreness, plus he's gearing up his body for training camp.

Cosmote TV and they have a youtube channel where they uploaded the last years interview with english subs. We(you) just have to wait for a bit. I didn't see the whole thing yet either but only specific bits out of various sports sites.
I don't think they asked him "would you give the world championship away for a conversation with your dad?" but maybe "would you give everything you achieved(money, fame, glory) away for something else?" and Giannis just said "yes to have my Dad back and I would gladly go back to Athens to sell CDs again" and then they moved to another question. It was still a "bait" question but not that bad. Those greek journalists know him very well and the talk to him all the time since his rookie year.
Those interviews are in his mother language and have a more relaxed and personal tone that's why he opens up so much each Summer unlike his interviews in english midway the season when he is more tense and focused on his job.

But my gut says the whole "it's over for the league when he gets a 3PT shot" dream was always just that. Keep in mind that Tim "Mr. Fundamental" Duncan himself was a much worse FT shooter (69.8% career) and an incredible mediocre mid-range shooter (40-44%). Think he still needs to take a good amount of those wide open shots when given, but the older he gets, the more he needs to play like Timmy.
Needs to work more on that Duncan bank shot then jumpshots.

Good start to Giannis' first year as co-owner of the Brewers.

In the video are some shots of Gianni practicing shots and unless I'm seeing things, I notice that he's tucking his elbows in more and the motion is more fluid from stance/squat to release. I'm wondering if these subtle differences show up in preseason.

Yeah, he’s going to have his highest 3p% this year since his rookie season.

Other than not tucking his elbow in, my pet peeve with Gianni's shot is that he leans his upper body backwards. That shooting coach is doing the right thing by putting his hand on Giannis's back to stop him from doing that. It's the same coach that Giannis had since Bud arrived which shows you how long it takes to kick bad habits in your mechanics.
BTW some guys are blessed with that thin bone structure that makes their muscles look bigger than they are, talk to a body builder and they'll tell you it's the most important thing, and it's either you have it or you don't. You can easily see if you're one of those guys just by measuring your wrist. Jrue is clearly not one of those guys, so he will never look like Giannis or Semi or someone like that, but he is a total friggin beast. He has those soccer player thighs, he must be impossible to push out of position. I bet he could defend and box out a big easily.

Jrue is ridiculously strong, and I can tell by the way he holds his position on court. I saw him bull one of the Morris twins in a Clippers game on one of his drives like he was nothing. His core strength is probably super stout.
And, agreed, even Jokic mentioned it in the All-Star Game about how Gianni's shoulders and head arch backwards when he shoots. I just notice in that video that he's really working to keep his elbows tucked in and it shows in his follow through. Of course, it's one thin to do it in an empty gym, it's another to do it in a game. But given Gianni's work ethic, his increased confidence post-2021 playoffs triumph and his willingness to embrace playing closer to the basket and on the block, I think we'll see some noticeable improvement in his mid-range jumper. Could care less about the 3, honestly. If he only took 2-3 a game (and on catch-and-shoot shots) that'd be enough.
