Mertz is trash, obviously… but Chryst is really turning into Mike McCarthy. Just an uninspiring doofus.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I don't see how Mertz recovers from this one

Yeah hes firmly on the hotseat youd have to think, will the new AD make a big move early in his tenure though.

Mertz is the biggest Wisconsin flop since Sam Okey.

It sounded a lot better two months ago when I agreed to fly home and go to the Wisconsin/Michigan game at Camp Randall with the old man.

Being gifted an excuse to get rid of Chryst for Leonhard at the end of the year. Don't squander it.

I would laugh at them being beat by Bowling Green, but BG would beat us too.

I'm more concerned about losing Leonhard than I am about getting rid of Chryst - that's not to say that I'm not growing 'for' the latter, mind you - but if he's a casualty to ensure we don't lose Leonhard then so be it.

Remember like 10 years ago when Chryst was our OC and for like a 5 year span we had one of the most high-powered offenses in football? What the **** happened?

I'd love Jimmy to be the next HC as much as anyone, but he **** the bed today.

Just wondering what the **** you were watching. The defense gave up less than 250 yards and after Wisconsin took a 13-10 lead the defense gave up 50 yards on 13 plays.

That was too strong, yea, but I thought they let the third string QB pick them apart by rushing four and sitting in zone on crucial drives in the second half.

Jesse Temple's recap in the Athletic is brutal.

Wisconsin’s desperate attempt at a comeback against Notre Dame had brought the Badgers near midfield with five minutes remaining, when quarterback Graham Mertz eyed receiver Kendric Pryor running a slant route against man coverage. The idea with three receivers on the right side was to clear out room for Pryor, whom Mertz called the “man winner” in that situation, and allow him to gain a chunk of yards in space.

To say there were just a few problems would be like saying the Titanic had a few problems out at sea.

For starters, it was the exact same play Wisconsin had run two quarters earlier, when Notre Dame cornerback Cam Hart jumped in front of Pryor and intercepted a Mertz pass. Yet with the outcome slipping away late in the fourth quarter, that’s what the Badgers went back to, only to watch the same result unfold. Hart again stepped in front of an errant Mertz throw, intercepted the pass and returned it deep into Badgers territory.

Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst, who had been hunched over with his hands on his knees as the play unfolded, lowered his head and stared at the ground, the picture of agony and frustration.

Somehow, it only got worse from there.

There was one drive where you could say that. The one that put them up 24-13. Every other drive by Notre Dame in the 2nd half was either a punt, a turnover or a drive that started in field goal range because of a Mertz turnover.

Was a pretty big drive.

I mean, I guess. The drive already started pretty close to FG range which would've meant the offense needed to score another TD, which is the real problem here and it comes from the story you just posted. Wisconsin has scored 13, 10, 7, 6 and 7 points against ranked opponents with Mertz at QB and he's had 2 TDs, 11 INTs and 5 lost fumbles in those games.
