Ant’s actual height and position
So I read that he grew 2 inches. The result however is not at all clear. Is he now 6’5, 6’6, 6’7 or 6’8 in shoes. I ask because people seem to think he is a SG but I am starting to wonder if he isn’t on his way to PF. Men can grow until they are 21 and just turned 20. If he is 6’7 in shoes that is more likely a SF than SG or PF especially with a 6’9 wingspan.

Re: Ant’s actual height and position
Why not have him stay at SG, if we trade Beasley? If we do manage to trade for Simmons our defense will just automatically be so much better if we keep McDaniels is well just because of the height.
6"5 DLo
6"7 Ant
6"10 McDaniels
6"10 Simmons
7'1 KAT
Outside of all of their lengths they are all youngy fast and athletic

Defense is a function of speed, weight, and height. JO cannot guard Giannis because he lacks the height and weight despite being fast enough. Ant has a good weight and if he can get taller while maintaining speed (not everyone can as height often equals weight which reduces speed,) then he is able to take on larger opponents. This creates options for rotations.
I want to make clear, positions often refer to defense rather than offense. Outside of PG you don’t get a lot of difference between SG and SF. In the old days PF was a low post player but today they are more flexible. Heck even centers play all over in the modern game.

Re: Ant’s actual height and position
He'll primarily be SG/SF throughout his career. What it means though is that he'll be able to be more effective when switching on defense.

He should stay at SG. Would much rather have him be oversized at a position he can dominate than undersized front court player. Name an undersized front court player that dominates. I don’t think one exists.

He's oversized at the SF as well and that isn't a front court position.

I wouldn't call him oversized at SF. Even at 6'6", 230 lb, I'd call that more average for the SF spot than oversized.

Are you sure he's not taller or heavier than those numbers. Certainly not undersized though.

Re: Ant’s actual height and position
Are other fanbases as obsessed about position rigidity, or is it just for the Wolves?

Ha. I think it has more to do with what other players you trot out there with him. The other SG options are all undersized and our front court is undersized, so Edwards sliding up a position just makes the team smaller. No likey.

Re: Ant’s actual height and position
I thnik we are better off if he is great at the 2 or 3. They are fairly interchangeable. But if he is like 6'7 eventually and strong I will love it. Butler plays the 2 and 3 and he is massive. He's listed as 6'7 but seems even taller, he's strong enough to hold his own against KAt in the post, that is a beast of a player and hopefully, Ant can reach that level if he gets taller and stronger.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Re: Ant’s actual height and position
Ant's wingspan is not impressive, Atlanta's SG and SF in Bogdanovic and Hunter have 7' and 7' 2'' wingspans for example. Ant can move any player in the league with his body, that's what's most impressive about him, he crashes into the strongest centers in the league and creates separation for the easy layups.
There's no player in the league with his combo of 1st step, general explosiveness and strength, he can get to the rim at will with his explosiveness against any defender, and then he can attack the rim protector with ease by going at him or around him depending on the situation.
Defensively it doesn't matter much what position he plays, he'll be able to play in switch-heavy defensive schemes, which seems to be the name of the game in today's game.

Well, he still has fairly good 6'9"-6'10" wingspan. You mentioned combo of 1st step, general explosiveness and strength, I would also add impressive body control, good lateral quickness, and good hands. I also thinking about two completelz different players: Wiggins who has 6'11"-7'0" wingspan and Jimmy Butler with 6'7.5”. Wiggins looks tiny everytime when he is playing SF, Butler de facto plays comboforward for MIA.
I hope Edwards will follow Butler development path, adds advanced footwork both in offense and defense, increases rebounding numbers, learns how to stay aggressive, physical both in defense and offense, but without fouling and gambling too much.

I can see why anybody would want their wing to develop like Jimmy, but I don’t think Ant will be exactly that type of player. Ant can be a much better scorer than Jimmy, and I don’t think he can be a defender as good as Jimmy, Jimmy is pretty special there. I think Ant is gonna be like a Donovan Mitchell on steroids type of player, just relentlessly scoring while being a willing passer, and not impressing too much on the other end.
