So other players don't have these payments due? We wouldn't have to pay for the salaries of the players coming back in a deal?

And as you said, there's 0 percent chance Tyrese Maxey would be included for essentially 8 million in cash. Not a chance.

I had no idea about this October first deadline thing. You're saying that if a player in on your roster before October 1st, you're responsible for paying him his entire salary, but if you trade for him after the 1st, you only have to pay him half? Even if it's October 2nd? If that's the case, wouldn't the Sixers just end up paying the full salary of whoever they take back in any deal before the 1st?

Dude, if the players you're getting back also receive half their salary on the first, then it would be irrelevant when you make the deal because salaries have to match.

how? So as owner you want pay ben to do nothing for your team? I mean that's what going happen when the 1st goes by. The players you get back will contribute … Ben will not.

I want to get a return that increases the chances of winning a title in the next three years. Giving away Tyrese Maxey to save 18 million dollars and zero salary cap does the opposite.

They do, but I believe structures can vary. [url]

Regardless, this is a non-factor. Whether $16 million or $8 million, we are talking about a franchise altering trade. They are not going to part with Maxey for the sake of $16 million.

Daryl hated that possible move for PG depth question. "Love the team that we have" with 1 guy who's barely a point guard.

Doc is making big statements about Maxey. Hopefully that means he'll get a long leash as the starter this year.
