Edwards has been whatever on defense in his first year and while at UGA. Edwards has a much higher upside on offense if he can get that FTr up, but I don't see him becoming the defensive player Jimmy was/is.
Offensively they are pretty similar. Drive into the paint with pure strength try to convert.
I can see Edwards becoming a significantly better defender than he is now. Maybe not Jimmy like but at least a Robert Covington lite defender.
I can't. He's supposedly on a team that's built to contend right now, KAT is the lead scorer is (theoretically) the rim protector, Okogie and Vanderbilt are defensive specialists, DLO is a distributor and creates his own offense. So it's not as if Edwards is asked to carry the team and he needs to take plays off defensively. And it's not like the team is devoid of defensive talent around him. I was hoping for more defensive acumen from him last year and it didn't really come (granted I didn't watch the majority of MIN games, especially towards the end of the year).
Don't hear me as not liking him, he's going to be an all star and 25+ ppg scorer. But I'm expecting Zach LaVine defense from him instead of Jimmy Butler.
Yup. He’s got bad defensive numbers in his first year, so in his 1 year in Georgia.
Honestly, im leaning towards Morey trading Edwards than keeping him.
If I can get the Cavs to overpay for Edwards, like Sexton and a couple of lightly protected picks, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
I agree on the Zach Lavine comp. I do see that for now.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
