We get it, some of you guys just love to build up these straw mans about everyone hating Rodgers as opposed to the reality that most people still wanted him back,but were simply calling him out on his bull ****, and you know, not wanting a player (any player) to be making franchise-altering personnel decisions. At age 35 he wanted to play into his 40s. At age 37.5 he was thinking about retiring. At age 7 I wanted to be an astronaut lawyer, at age 41 I work for a big corporation.

Rodgers LITERALLY contemplated retirement very seriously THIS OFFSEASON. They even said on the game last night he wanted to make sure he could give the team the full effort and attention that the team deserves.

If it was that seriously considered by Rodgers based on what Rodgers told them, how valuable is him wanting to play into his forties? How smart would be it to prepare in case he had decided to retire, which again, by his own words was being contemplated just a few months ago?

Or is it easier to just ignore this or wish it away?

During and interview with Dan Le Batard, Aaron Rodgers said he felt he was about “50/50” on the retirement decision. And didn’t make up his mind until the week before camp.

“I mean, I felt going into the weekend before camp that I was 50/50,” Aaron Rodgers told Dan Le Batard. “I don’t care if people don’t believe that. That’s true.”

Please. At least get the facts straight. Rodgers didn't contemplate retirement because he was doubting his previous decision to play into his 40's. He was contemplating retirement because the organization pissed him off to that point. It's not like he hasn't been very clear on what happened and what his thought process was. How do you make yourself believe these obvious fabrications ??

If you want to hate Rodgers just because, that's fine. Man up and say it. If you want to hate Rodgers because you agree that players play and coaches coach, that's fine too, no matter how 1970's that thinking may be. But be careful what you wish for. Rodgers is still making throws that barely a handful of QB's can make, and any thought process that Love is just another MVP in waiting is ludicrous. Get ready for an ice cold shower wake up call if you get your wish and this is Rodgers last year.

You guys can waste your time rehashing this same old crap after every single game, whatever. But get the hell over yourselves. We're all glad that both sides found a way to be adults and fans can enjoy a SB contending season, but if/when the drama comes roaring back in the offseason, I'll go right back to criticizing the people that deserve it. He did not ignore the defense. Yes, it could be better, but the last 3 years have been arguably the best defense we've had with Rodgers other than 2010...and yes, that is kind of sad to consider because the bar is low, but they spent picks on Gary, Savage, Jaire, Stokes and locked up Kenny and brought in the Smiths. Also, they just unearthed Campbell which may be the best ILB since Bishop.

So you think we're going to give up 35 a game in the playoffs but yet Gute has done a good job? Which is it?

He's clearly got an eye for talent in the draft. How about he spend some of it on our d-line.

Both. He doesn't have an infinite amount of resources. You don't want me to post the defensive players he inherited in 2017-18. It's ugly. Almost everyone is out of the league. So far he's had to replace both starting OLB's, both starting ILB's, both starting corners, and both starting safeties. He's done an amazing job filling the defense with talent in a very short timespan despite having to pick at the back end of drafts and having to pay a QB $40 million a year

Whether Barry can put it all together is another issue tho.

When you summarize it like that, woof, that is a lot of heavy lifting in a short time.

You guys and your everyone that wanted to trade Rodgers hates him, this is getting old.

They literally said on the telecast part of his retirement decision was if he could give it his all. So unless you are saying the broadcasters lied about that, or that Rodgers was lying about his retirement decision, can we just admit he was actually close to retiring? It could have been for many reasons, the fact you and others assume it was only about the management when we have him telling other people it was about his commitment, I don't know what to tell you.

I've said it before and will say it again, I think Rodgers is a diva, I think his trade out was orchestrated by his people, I think I would have traded him to the 49ers. With all that said, I think I have probably said, no less than a dozen times, bringing everyone back and running it for another Superbowl run, then trading him to where he wants to go is probably the best possible outcome.

I get it is hard to keep track of everyone's individual opinions, but the Rodgers guys here that just blindly keep throwing out this 'if you disagree you hate Rodgers, get ready for him to piss you off by being good' is way incorrect. There are probably 10-20 posters that wanted to trade him, almost none of them used the word hate or get rid of, and I haven't seen a single one that seems to be disappointed with him playing well now that he is back.

That is part of the reason I think it is stupid that every good game he has, you have posters saying 'ooooo going to be some really pissed off packer fans out there!!! burn!!!'....just like I think it is stupid that people would say 'oooo Rodgers sucked donkey balls against the Saints, so many people that didn't want to trade Rodgers must be really pissed off, burn!!!' ...It's nonsense at this point, our team is on the field, let's go, and let's revisit the future of Rodgers after the season. I highly suspect this is the end, so going to enjoy it.
