From athletic article shared on reddit

Jonathan Isaac, Magic (torn left ACL): The 23-year-old forward, who tore his ACL early in the Disney Bubble in August, 2020, won’t be participating full-court in camp, though it’s possible he can participate in some drills. He’s still rehabbing his knee, though he’s making very good progress. Orlando does not yet have a timetable for his return. The Magic were four points per 100 possessions better than opponents with Isaac on the floor in 2019-20, and his defensive play is a huge part of that equation.

Markelle Fultz, Magic (torn left ACL): Pretty much the same as Isaac; the 23-year-old Fultz, who tore his ACL in early January, just eight games into Orlando’s season, has had no setbacks in his rehab. His return to the court will continue to depend on how he responds to his rehabilitation program and treatment. There’s no timetable set for his return. The Magic will be cautious about ramping up his workload during camp and the preseason. He may also be able to do drills on the side during camp, but will have no full contact for a while.

It seems like non of them will play season opener.

Many Magicians already in the pre-preseason pick-up games.

I knew Fultz wouldn't be ready but JI not being ready is kinda concerning but considering where we are in our rebuild i mean he can take all the time he needs. Seems like the tank might be getting a head start, this also means that Franz will be playing some decent minutes until JI gets back.

Four points is massive!

Last year for the Magic it takes the team from 21 wins to about 25 wins. For mediocre teams, that 4 points is everything. For Detroit, the team would go from 20 wins to more than 30 wins. WOW. For Boston, it would have gone from 36 to 49 wins. A REAL WOW!
(( Orlando's problem last year was scoring, more than defense )).

If the Magic can keep their scoring differential to above -4, this team will win some games. For that the team probably needs to average 110 ppg. I cannot see that happening.

Great points!

Even if Isaac starts from game-1, he could be minutes restricted to 15-20 mpg. F-Wagner will get his chances. And the thinness of the SF/PF core is his every p=opportunity for on-court time.

And Mosley did not rule out starting two rookies. So ...... we will see.
(( He also did not rule out starting none, which is ridiculous - Suggs starts no matter what )).

it may be concerning, but I honestly expected it. JI will ALWAYS have injury issues until he proves he wont.

Also, I believe JI had a meniscus tear in addition to the ACL which may have extended the recovery time.

Isaac is super valuable to a team when he plays...I think anyone with a brain can see that regardless of what you think of his offense.

Its hard to put franchise hope into someone this oft injured though. This season has low expectations, but it is extremely important. It will answer a lot of questions.

I wonder who the one vet will be that always gets more minutes than they should and it pisses all of us off. Bacon, CJ Watson, Jerian Grant, Jonathon Simmons, Randle, etc.

I like Mo Wagner’s energy on the court, he’s usually productive but he’s gotta be the betting favorite for me.

That was under Cliff. We have a new coach and a new roster so I hope and even suspect the answer will be “None”.

If I had to pick, perhaps Moore given Fultz might not be ready and always seems hurt. Even in that scenario I would want our coach to give all the extra minutes to Suggs, Cole and RJ.

You could also say Lopez behind WCJ by saying Bamba disappoints again. I counter again by saying tough ****, this is a rebuilding year. Play through the lows and show progress!

I don’t think it has anything to do with Cliff who had no problems playing you guys on this roster if they were able to contribute. Our status as a rebuilding team in its early stages is what will determine that. It’s why JI and Fultz “aren’t ready” we can afford to bring them along slowly.

My guess is that if any of our younger players aren’t playing 48 minutes and taking 25 shots then this board will be a mess because RealGm somehow equates that with development.
