I don’t think our offer would be enough but I like your thought process.

Grant would be a nice piece for the Sixers if they didn't have Tobias already there.
They need a talented guard, not another player that needs to play inside a lot of times, even though he can shoot.

Maybe Grant and a first goes to Potland for CJ? Philadelphia gets Beverly or Prince and CJ for Simmons.

MIN in: Simmons ($33M)

PHI in: Grant ($20M), Beverly ($13M) and 2024 FRP (MIN)
PHI out: Simmons ($33M)

DET in: McDaniels ($2M), Prince ($13M), Bolmaro ($2M) & 2022 FRP (MIN)
DET out: Grant ($20M)

*** MIN gets Simmons while hanging on to KAT, Ant & Russell but at the cost of McDaniels and Two (2) FRP's

*** PHI gets a very nice "win now" piece in Grant along with PG help (Beverly) & future FRP

*** DET - The rebuild gets a huge boost with McDaniels, Bolmaro & 2022 FRP to add to what appears very good young nucleus in Cunningham, Bey, Stewart & Hayes

Here is a modified 4 teamed with Portland:

MN out: Prince, Beasley, Layman, 2022 FRP, 2024 FRP (maybe 2023 pick swap)

MN in: Simmons

DET out: Grant
DET in: Beasley, Layman, 2024 MN FRP

PHI out: Simmons, Curry
PHI in: Prince, McCollum, MN 2022 FRP

POR out: McCollum
POR in: Grant, Curry, 2023 MN Pick swap

Simmons wants to play with a little tempo, you say?

Snippets from the article in the tweet Klomp posted:
Simmons was so convinced that new Sixers president Daryl Morey was about to reunite with his favorite franchise player that he started researching on the real estate front. If you had to pinpoint a moment when emotional ties were severed between Simmons and the only NBA franchise he has ever known, that may have been it.

“I watched last night a player lead their team to victory where a thousand pounds of digital ink were spilled on how much he would never play for that team again,” Morey had said of the Green Bay Packers star who led a last-second win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night after looking destined for a divorce with the franchise just months ago. “Look, every situation is different, but we have a lot of optimism that we can make it work here. …Ben’s a great player, and we expect him back. We expect him to be a 76er.”

Cue the response.

“It’s total bull,” one source with knowledge of Simmons’ outlook said of Morey’s analysis.

Yet of all the problem areas to explore, there’s none more unyielding and impossible to ignore than this: People who have intimate knowledge of how he sees this situation continue to insist that he’s done playing with Embiid. There’s nothing personal about this choice, it seems, but the 25-year-old Simmons has clearly decided that his career is better off without Embiid blocking the runways in the paint that he so badly needs to succeed.

As he sees it, sources say, the organization’s choice to build its basketball ecosystem around Embiid’s style simply isn’t conducive to the way he needs to play. So while Embiid insisted to reporters on Monday that he wants Simmons back, this much is clear: The feeling is not mutual.

“It has run its course,” the source said of their pairing.

Truth be told, sources say Simmons thought he would have been traded by now.

When he met with the Sixers brass at the Los Angeles home of his agent, Rich Paul, in August, telling managing partner Josh Harris in direct fashion that he no longer wanted to play for his club, the goal was to avoid this sort of mess. Sources say the Sixers had come equipped with all sorts of reasons that he should want to stay, and even supported the argument with a statistically based presentation featuring the success of the Embiid-Simmons pairing. But his view, his uneasy feelings about the problematic fit remained unchanged.

Either way, the claim from the Simmons side is that there is no coming back from this. Even if he returned to avoid the stiff penalties, sources close to Simmons say the notion that he would up his trade value by re-engaging mentally and playing well enough to convince suitors that he might be willing to stay is, well, just that. Delusional.

McDaniels has grown to legit 6'10". His standing reach is the same as KATs, Reid's which given his mobility and instincts make him a unique player. I really hope we keep him as he might end up a special player.

Now you would be foolish to trade him, if it wasn't already before.

I saw that vid from a straight on angle and KAT was an inch taller than Jaden which would mean he is legitimately 6'10" barefoot.

His standing reach cannot be the same as KATs. KAT had 6" on him by pre-draft measurements so that would mean Jaden's arms grew 5 inches in the last year since he only gained an inch in height.

I cant find the source it was probably someone on twitter. It also might be an error in measurements, but my eye test that Jaden is tall enough to play PF full time

Haven't listened yet, but here are some takeaways (from reddit) from Krawczynski's latest pod:

https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy50cmFuc2lzdG9yLmZtL3RoZS1qb24ta3Jhd2N6eW5za2ktc2hvdy10aW1iZXJ3b2x2ZXM/episode/OGQyOTQ0MjktOTIxNy00MjQ3LWE2MGUtZjhlY2JjYzUxMGJh?sa=X&ved=0CAUQkfYCahcKEwj4zquPxKLzAhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQAQ

He talked about how Lore and ARod acted as soon as they saw that the Wolves FO had culture issues.

Marc Lore has a lot of trust in Gupta and that he will likely have a full season to cement his case as to why he should be the Wolves GM. He's not being treated as a caretaker but as a full time GM for the time being.

Jon: "they (Wolves) will stay active and heavily involved in Ben Simmons talks. I have been told that Sachin Gupta has the authority to make a deal and do what he has to do to give the Wolves a chance to get Ben Simmons."

Gupta is a big fan of Ben and sees him as a perfect piece to add to the Wolves and will pursue him heavily.

Before the Gupta-Rosas partnership dissolved Gupta was heavily involved in 76ers-Wolves negotiations so he won't need a lot of time to catch up to speed.

Jon says the Wolves aren't desperate for Ben Simmons but rather "thirsty" and that they really want to do the trade but there is a belief that the current roster is enough for a low playoff seed. But they will only pay what they see a "reasonable" price for Simmons.

They understand that the NBA is a star driven league and that the Wolves can't attract FA's in free agency so if you are looking to add a star to your team they see this as a way to do it. But again they won't break open the bank just to trade for Simmons.

Good summation.

Pacers Out: Brogdon

Pistons In: Prince, Isaiah Joe, 1 Protected FRP, 3 second round picks
Pistons Out: Grant

PHI in: Brogdon, Grant, Beasley

I feel like Indiana might be more inclined if we give up an extra pick, but not sure

1. It’s great to see KAT goofing around and laughing. Find some joy, young fella.
2. I wish Okogie had even one once of offense in him because he’s so easy to cheer for (check out his Minnetonka boat day on IG)
3. Don’t trade McDaniels - ever.
4. Wolves baby!

As always, actions speak louder than words.

Rivers can say how he wants to use Simmons all he wants. When he designs an offence that sticks him to the side of the basket (and actively continues to run those plays with other players when Ben is sitting) he's simply full of crap.

I honestly don't know how he keeps getting jobs at this point. His incompetence will cap the Sixers, same as everywhere else he's been, and hopefully that will be the end of it. He'll get fired, maybe do some TV work and then slink off into the shadows to retire, occasionally re-entering basketball discussion when someone brings up his impressive history of leading losses.

Tall enough has never been the problem. He's not big enough or strong enough to do it.

If McDaniels is the price for Simmons I'm packing his bags and driving him to the airport.
