I have a feeling that Both Diaz brothers are trying to run out their UFC contracts so that they can cash in on some of these boxing match ups

Back in the day, they seemed like the most respected by the boxing world. They'd spar with champs like Ward and Kessler consistently and get love from a gang of boxers. If they could rope a Paul brother into that asswhooping and payday, it'd be a nice dub. Diaz bros vs Paul Bros would be big money.

Sidenote: MVP beat Douglas Lima yesterday...well...it was a very disappointing fight, close enough to edge either way (I'd edge it to Lima for takedowns tbh). That sets him up for a title fight though and it is pretty wild that even Lima had to resort to takedowns against MVP's striking.

That would be fun, Tony's past his prime but against a dude that'll just stand and bang we might get some vintage moments.

It looks like MVP wants to run it back with Lima in a 5 round fight. I think MVP knows Amosov is a really bad match up for him

My boy Thiago Santos is back in action against the freak athlete Johnny Walker. Feels like a guaranteed KO but I’m a little nervous for my guy.

Niko Price vs Brazilian cowboy basically means someone is getting slept.

And we got Kevin Holland back after doing a camp with Johnny Hendricks who was a fantastic wrestler but fell off the planet after usada testing was implemented and closed out his career by losing to a short notice replacement in bare knuckle boxing…that replacement happened to be a male pornstar which made the memes ruthless for a brief while.

Walker’s chin. And when he gets KO’d he does some crazy looking dancing before crumbles. Santiago is going to crush him

Pretty weak night of fights tbh. I'm glad that my dawg got his dub but he definitely looks like he's lost a step.

Those kicks still had some power to them. Walker’s main goal seemed to be to just not get hit so he kept his distance. But Santos got the win. Who’s next for Thiago?

The Count has a nice breakdown of what transpired in this this fight and why it went a full 5 instead of a KO, which most people expected.

He's definitely still got some juice, but I'm used to Thiago KO'ing dudes with some of the shots he landed. I'm glad he's still willing to kick hard for sure.

Bisping brought up a good point I hadn't realized. This was the last fight on Thiago's contract, that'll have a dude fighting more cautiously after a few losses. So hopefully it was more playing safe than losing some bite.

Technique vs. Power. Question still to be answered is the size of the cage. I think Francis needs to counter. If he's too aggressive, he might shoot his load too early. Can Ngannou last 5 rounds with Gane?

Add to the intrigue that these guys were sparring partners during their come up. They have a baked in familiarity that always makes fights a bit more interesting to me. Gane has really blanked some good fighters but Volkov connected a bit and Ngannou only ever needs one punch. I tend to think Ngannou will lose when someone wrestles him and ties up the power rather than avoids it but that was my theory for Deontay Wilder before Tyson Fury too.

How about that 268 card? And on back-to-back weekends with 267 (which will be on free TV).

I'm both extremely hype AND kinda annoyed by it

Both of those cards are stacked, but then you look at this weekend and the card is extra weak. Tim Elliott and Deron Winn are on the main card but have been really boring in recent history; Mackenzie Dern is the main-event which is a reach and Randy Brown is the co-main which is an even bigger stretch.

Next week...even worse. Holly Holm is out of the main event, so they're rushing to make a deal with Aspen Ladd...That's cool except that Ladd missed weight last weight, looked like she might die on the scale, and had her fight cancelled. Now they're rushing her into a second weight-cut this month because she probably needs the money and they can't cancel that fight without the card being a complete bust (Andrei Arlovski is the co-main.

After that we got one more card before 267, and it's only a slight improvement. Vettori vs Costa is legit but Vettori is cursed and Costa has pulled out of fights recently. After that we get fighters that everyone likes but not top-of-the-main-card caliber (Jessica Rose-Clark is co-main and Bruce Leroy aka Alex Caceres is the third fight).

So for the next few weeks, we have cards but it's mostly a drought. These are fights I would typically look for on secondary circuits. And I think the reason we have this drought is because they positively STACKED 267 and 268. They both have fights on their prelims that could be co-main events on any of the free cards this month...Burgos vs Quarantillo is better than everything except Costa vs Vettori to me. So we'll be talking boxing this weekend and then probably waiting around until the PPV's; but those PPV's are absolutely stacked!

wilder put up a hell of a fight, but he's nowhere near as skilled a Fury. Fury is just a beast, Wilder should've gone down way sooner.

Wilder went down? I thought Wilder scored the only two knockdowns of the fight.
