I don't get it, if he is a bum, trade him for some bums and let's get on with it.

Make sure to not give them an NBA contract
Either that or NBA should also explore banning players who goes renegade on their team after an investigation whether its warranted or not.
The Sixers have been trying to trade him for months
IF he comes back, it will only be for a short time, a massive distraction, he might take time from developing players and, worst case scenario, he sustains a serious injury
Better to let him sit out

This is the first time I agree with you. Simmons at this point has created a toxic environment if he does come back at some point it needs to be much later when everyone has cooled down.
Him sitting out at this point is doing the Sixers a massive favor. It makes it so much easier for the team to move on and comparilize things plus there is less pressure from ownership since he won't be getting paid. If he continues to stay away from the team this could drag on for a long time there is really nothing forcing the sixers to do anything.

And he mentions having all of their picks. What if it’s just Brogdon warren and multiple firsts? Or Brogdon, filler, and 3 firsts

Brogdon, Warren and lets say 2 firsts? I'm in. I dont think it makes them to real legit contenders but it's probably a small improvement pending those dudes health, and the 2 firsts start to fill out a war chest to cash in on once a real star becomes available.

DET gets Simmons and Springer
PHI gets Grant, Bey, Hield, and VanVleet
SAC gets Harris and Milton
TOR gets Bagley and Hayes
