It's cool they are going to 'attempt' to cut out the non basketball foul bait moves, but penalizing transition fouls is arguably of equal precedence imo.

Simmons has no value to a team like MIN if he refuses to report being the young socialite he is.
Why wouldn't he report to MIN?
Because if he reports to Minnesota then he loses his leverage.
If he wants to go to a large market, as it has been reported, then he tells teams like MIN that he has no interest playing for them and it ensures he doesn't get traded there.

If Minnesota trades for him they literally aren't allowed to trade him again for 60 days(unless they somehow found a 1 for 1 deal they wanted)

There's been multiple reports that he will play anywhere but PHI and that the coast teams don't want him.

Not saying Baby Ben is there yet.
But at what point would he fire Rich Paul?
Seems like it would have been easier to act professionally and work behind the scenes to find a new destination rather than go scorched earth per the Klutch MO.
It’s not even like they can deliver an enticing destination at this point. How psyched can Simmons be to leave a contender for Minnesota or Cleveland?
That and if he’s stuck in Philly either way it seems easy enough to can Paul, blame Klutch, and then focus on basketball.

Another player could fire the agent and blame it on them to rehab their image. But this is the soft baby who is too scared to take a jump shot and has made all the bad decisions to train the wrong way. Everyone knows who messed up here. It’s Ben.

Re: ATL - Camps Open 9/28
Why would Simmons fire Rich Paul? Simmons wants out of Philly ASAP and Philly wants him to return and play to increase his trade value. The thing is, Simmons doesn't care what he gets traded for. In fact, he'd probably prefer to get traded for a lesser package because then the team he's joining would be better. The only rationale to fire Paul would be if he didn't tell him or understated the PR hit he's going to take for this. Otherwise there's many things you can say about his holdout, illogical is not one of those things.

This is the rare holdout where I support the player (and agent). Sixers told Simmons they didn’t want him and were going to trade him. Fanbase turned on him 100%. There is no point in him coming into camp and playing. It’s all about Morey simply wanting more trade leverage, after Morey and the team self-destroyed their leverage.

Congrats to Wiggins for drastically reducing his likelihood of getting very ill or dying, and congrats to San Francisco on the implementation of effective policy.

They still have almost all the leverage though. He's under contract for 4 years and are obligated to give him none of it if he voluntarily sits, meanwhile we're going to get 10 games into the season and a bunch of 3-7 teams with unrealistic expectations are going to be falling over themselves to make Philly more or less whole on this. Simmons will end up as The Man on some husk of a team.
Think both parties have been bad on this, but Morey's biggest mistake was hiring Doc.

Re: ATL - Camps Open 9/28
Does anyone here agree with many rankings suggesting that the Heat are the third best team in the East and even on our level now with the additions of Lowry/Tucker? I wouldn't be surprised if Boston and Atlanta are the Heat's peer group by the end of the year. If Philly gets something coherent for Simmons I still think they are better than those three.

Where have you seen them ranked in the same tier? I've mainly seen Brooklyn 1 and us 2 then any number of teams 3

Someone needs to do a 2 hour youtube with all the consecutive Sixers implosions since Hinkie.
Simmons, Fulz, Colangelo, Jimmy, Noel/Okafor, it's easy to forget something.
Also, incredibly scary what could've been if they had avoided even a couple of pitfalls.

They had a litany of other draft picks as well. The recent Bridges for Zhaire Smith + pick that ended up being Tre Mann that Philly had still traded.
Holiday was traded for Noel and the pick that ended up being Elfrid Payton that was then traded for Dario Saric and some other stuff.
Thanks Wikipedia!

There's no way back for Simmons, I think he's aware enough to know how Philly fans will treat him at their first home game, I wouldn't want to deal with that either. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have a whole lot of leverage and Morey keeps asking for more than King's ransom. I'm definitely on Simmons side, considering Morey is almost working in bad faith by proposing these ludicrous deals.

2nd round picks Jerami Grant, Richaun Holmes. What an absolute circusJez2983 wrote:Pachinko_ wrote:Someone needs to do a 2 hour youtube with all the consecutive Sixers implosions since Hinkie.

Just really curious, what ever happened to Zhaire Smith? Is he out of the league?

Think both parties have been bad on this, but Morey's biggest mistake was hiring Doc.
I don't think that's the case because Philly wants a top-15 talent in return and Beal and Lillard are really the only players at that level who its even conceivable of them being traded in the next year. Indiana for Brogdon and Lamb or Warren, or Sacramento with Hield and one of the PG's. If you can get Minnesota to be willing to part with Russell, that's a more palatable trade but if D'Angelo Russell isn't the caliber of player they apparently want.

You're suffering from a lack of imagination on this. A year is a long time and you're letting what's known *right now* determine everything that's going to happen. The landscape 1-2 months from now is going to be radically different from today's, after reality replaces hope.

I've heard it on numerous podcasts from Lowe, Windhorst, Duncan and Hollinger. I have also seen it on NBATV.

Yeah, everyone is picking the Heat as this sneaky dark horse contender and I'm just not buying it. 36-year old Lowry isn't the difference between getting swept in the 1st round and making it to the Conference Finals. Lot of people still probably assuming that BAM! (who I love) has superstar potential (he doesn't), and that Herro is anything but "just a guy" (he's not). The rest of that roster is an uninspiring collection of crappy undrafted dudes and veterans who offer next to nothing on offense anymore (Tucker, Iggy, Morris, Dedmon). They'll have a very good defense if everyone stays healthy, but I have no idea where the scoring comes from outside of Jimmy.
