A lot of what I'm feeling is just disappointment. I really thought Ben was one of us and wanted to win here

He still is one of us, but this isn't the 70s or 80s or 90s, unfortunately we as fans now have ZERO impact, it's all about the you know what

I personally can't stand Ben and I think its some awesome karma he is now getting back. But I can still sit in awe at how delusional Philly and the rest of the fans have become. I can see a character assassination when I see it.
I hate the way Philly fans turned on him though and made this 100% his fault when coaching was as much to blame.
I hate that Philly fans think its ok to boo players... and I don't just mean Simmons but guys in the past like RoCo. Philly people seem to have some sort of misplaced pride in this, which I will never ever get.
I hate that Embiid is flat out lying about Simmons being the reason they traded Butler and that Horford was brought in to help Ben (Like seriously WTF).
I hate Doc Rivers. He is an overrated coach who cares more about politics than trying to figure out why his teams choke every year. I hate that he flat out lied about being misconstrued in his initial comments about Simmons after the game.
I hate that Philly fans who have been wanting him to be traded for 4 months, now suddenly are upset that he isn't coming back. Hypocrites.
I hate that Philly fans talk about what a bum he is but demand all star talent in return... and the complain when they can't get a trade for him.
Ben doesn't have my support at all... but Morey, Embiid, Rivers and their fans have acted like jackasses in this. I certainly won't be supporting Ben wherever he goes but I won't be supporting Philly either anymore.
I'm calling a spade a spade, you simply don't have a dog in this fight anymore if what you're saying is true, which I don't believe, so please delete your account and choose a different handle and STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT BEN SIMMONS
I don't think you understand how much I despise the guy and made it clear in the past. Do you think I have an image of his appalling outside shooting because I am a fan?
Also I tried to change my handle several times before and was told I couldn't as I had a current ban and to do it at my next account review. Then I had my account review and they still didn't change it so I gave up. All there in the private messages.
And you are right I don't have a dog in this fight anymore. Well except to see Philly get as little as possible for him.

I’m exited to see how Maxey responds to being starting PG on a high expectation team.
And I’m super exited to see all of the starting 5 being able to shoot threes.
I'm looking forward to seeing the young guys improve but man something tells me Ben Simmons is going to go his new team and start shooting just to stick it to us further. And with our luck, the players we get back will have back to back acl injuries
Maybe but it doesn't matter does it?
Philly and Ben checked out about 3 months ago.
Well and truly time go their separate ways.

Let's be honest he got ran out of town.
Ben clearly has the sense not to hang around where he is not wanted and packed up and moved to LA.
Also at least he has the integrity to burn pay cheques rather than faking an injury or claiming "mental health issues".

First, spurs is my least preferred trading partner among the teams were rumored with.
Second, the assets i want from them are not White and Murray. White is an OK player that I think is very similar with Shake that he will be a good fit with our team but I dont value him that high to make him a one of the centerpiece of the deal.
The guys I want from the Spurs are Primo then a big gap then Vassell and Keldon. Those players and picks.
Got it. I would much rather prefer to never talk about the Spurs players you mentioned rather then talk about them all year. So yeah, we better not deal with Spurs.
Its one of those trades where I give up 75 cents on a dollar with a chance to turn 75 cents into $1.25
.
Hang on, you're turning 25 cents into $1.25 if you give up 75 cents correct?

1.00 => .75 => 1.25
Similar to the evolution of Ben Simmons
So buy Ben Simmons while supply last.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread part V
Drummond.
I was thinking about it the other day on what type of C is in demand in today’s NBA. Well, you dont really need to be able to shoot 3s. You need to be able to finish well around the rim, catch lobs, be a good roll man and make FTs. Making FTs is something Drummond needs to improve.
But most important of all as a center in on the other side, unless you’re an all time elite offensive center like Jokic. And if you are Jokic, you need to be able to be good or very good on defense.
What’s a definition of a good to very good defensive center? Anchor a team’s defense, protect the rim and being able to bang with the big centers and yet mobile enough to switch on defense.
On the defensive end, there’s really a few number of centers who could fit that description and for me Drummond was one of them. Was, because he was good but he recently took a step back. Even Doc mentioned it and he talked about challenging Drummond to be back to where he was as a star caliber defensive center.
I look at scorers. Actually we recently have seen an influx of these 16-18ppg scoring guards who can shoot and run PnR. What’s rare are really talented forwards (just look around) and this amphibian bigs who is mobile, plays team d, plays individual d and could bang with the big Cs.
If you have one of these centers, you just need to surround him with scoring guards like Trey Burke, Maxey, Milton, Seth, Immanuel Quickly, jordan poole, derrick white, Jalen Brunson, Cameron Payne and etc. You then can take advantage of how bogus the league made it easy for offense while being able to play good defense with a center like Drummond. And if you have noticed, we’re kind of doing it with our second unit last season and you’ll see this trend increasing with teams running 3 to sometimes even 4 guard units.

Much of what you say can be implied to Embiid. How many Centers with top usage (2nd in the league, 8th in the league, 2nd in the league, 3rd in the league) have averaged 3apg and been successful? None? There is your answer of what a C in today's NBA shouldn't be.

So disregard all basketball skills, ability, knowledge, impact, value (you know the game being played) and just irrationally support and parrot the narative from your city. Sounds like a Philly fan.

I get the argument that he could help spell Embiid… but a major reason why he was thought to be able to give Embiid more breaks was because he was a very good fit with Simmons. There’s a clear reason they made a move to sign someone with range like Horford as opposed to a more traditional center. It was a move to benefit both of them (though they clearly miscalculated how bad of a fit Embiid and Horford were when they were on the court together), which is how things generally work. Similar thing with Butler, among other reasons they clearly wanted to let Ben handle the ball more.
Apparently some are under the impression that accommodating Simmons means you have to do moves that only benefit him to the detriment of everyone else on the team. Which is wrong/says a lot about what their priorities are (and Ben’s, if this is how he feels).
