I missed the first 10 minutes because of a DVR mess up but I saw it from 28-25 onwards. Beasley had a miserable night. Bolmaro was disappointing overall but showed flashes of the passing and defense that will make him an asset long term. Prince will never be able to maintain that shooting, but it was a welcome sight and I hope he can be a consistent 3 and D. MCD must have been drunk, because I don’t see how he played that badly sober. Dlo and Ant need to move the ball more. I don’t care if it goes in, good ball movement wins games. KAT is the biggest dog in the yard. Off the dribble no one can stop him. When they don’t press up to avoid KAT taking them off the dribble he just feasts from behind the line. I was stunned that Okogie started, it will be interesting if that is a sign of things to come. Overall a good night for the Wolves, not too bothered by the final score given the lineups we were running in the 4th. Looking forward to the next one.

Let’s not get crazy. If his D turns out to be elite that will make Ant a next level talent. But his offense is not MJ, Lebron, Kobe, Curry, level yet. Not to say it cannot happen, but he is not even close yet. Kawhi Leonard is a good end of the season bench mark for him. If he gets to that level I will be thrilled.

Just vibes man! Vibes is all! Keep in mind MJ was still at UNC at this age level season, so there is still time!

There is tons of time. I think what we have seen is more representative of Ant’s floor than his ceiling. I think the kid can improve his jump shot and be a little smarter at rebounding angles and box outs. Put that together with his improved defense and attack mode strengths, and watch out.

Was at the game. Had AMAZING tickets, never been that close was a huge treat. Half the time I was just in awe of seeing these guys all game in front of me. Sat a little behind Glen and Becky Taylor. Saw Jim Pete and Benz to my right. At halftime Benz was chomping down on some cup noodles LOL. Like 90 percent sure I saw Jon Krawczynski to my left in the media area. Anyway here are some things I noted.

Dlo and Pat Beverly were the biggest cheerleaders. Pat Bev was all over the place, basically a louder coach on the floor. When he was on the bench he was constantly getting up and coaching guys. KAT got hurt early and Pat Bev ran over and barking at the ref that KAT got mauled.

Dlo would go to guys in the huddle when he was the bench and talk to them. He was very involved. He also cheered loudly, when Beverly was playing, he fed off of Beverley's energy. Beverly was very reminiscent of KG when it comes to talking and being super active.

My friend who was with me who is not a basketball fan took note of Beverly and he was his favorite player, he had a huge presence.

McDaniels did look tall, a similar height to KAT.

Our main bigs, KAT, Vando, Naz, just seemed a lot stronger than some of the Pelicans front court guys. Hays took some big bumps early, it was rough.

When Hayes went down, he was on the ground writhing, the ref was like "Come on get up, get up now," and she shouted back "I'm HURT!" I know the ref felt like crap after that.

Beasley looked lost, like he was just a step behind, understandable as this is his first action in a long time, probably needs some time to ramp up.

Prince was a King, dude looked really good with the stroke. Big night for him.

McDaniels kind of got worked, off night.

Ant was pretty effervescent. He was also loud, he looked lost a few times and didn't have a big game but that block was awesome to see in person.

Dlo, Beverly, Ant all looked like they were having the best time.

KAT was pretty serious, he was joking too but he was taking the game seriously. My friend was really impressed with his ability (again, casual knowledge of the wolves). He did do some complaining but it wasn't was bad as it can be.

Team was really on people about getting back and such. Okogie hit a three and held the pose for a bit and some guys were yelling at him to get back.

They are really trying to clean up those dumb mistakes, good sign, holding each other accountable.

Towards the end, when Bolmaro has the ball in isolation, Finch was on the floor yelling (in a coaching way) at him to spin. He was using his hands and body language and spinning while saying "Spin! Spin!" Bolmaro didn't do it but still made a play.

Bolmaro was very talkative in huddles, his must be understanding English pretty well. He was talking to his teammates a lot and discussing what they will do.

Few more things overheard.

After half time KAT came back from the tunnel later than everyone else. Maybe teammates were asking him where he was he said "I was just lifting, I swear to God I was just lifting just now!" Guess he hit the gym during the half? Lol.

Pat Bev to McKinley Wright after he missed his first free throw during the clutch moment. "You are just at the park right now. You are just at the park hitting your free throws, that's it!"

So cool to pick up on all the little details, great night. Third best game I've ever been to cause of the seats lol.

Also of note to me. Nowell looked big. Like tall and strong, I didn't know he was that big of a guy he has an NBA body for sure. I was surprised at his size more than anybody.

man McDaniels got absolutely manhandled on the glass tonight. I pray he's not playing significant minutes at the 4 this season.

Many thanks Calinks for this report!!

Thanks for the write up!

It's always been on my bucket list to get that close. I feel you can learn a lot about what's going on other than watching on TV.

Any signs of Gupta/Lore/Arod?

I don’t think any lineup with McDaniels at PF will be our best lineup. As was noted above, Towns has been a sieve (and our defense overall) when a small/light PF is on the court. Even Covington, who is a good defensive player, was a horrible fit at PF according to advanced stats.

I think we’re going to see a lot of Vando/Naz at PF unless Prince is tougher/bigger than I think he is.

He's also a way worse defender than you think he is.

I wonder is part of Jmac looking clumsy and a bit lost, slow to react at times down to him growing a bit. Could he be taking a bit of time to get used to his height?? He also seemed fairly anxious on defense, reacting late and doing a quick foul. Maybe after a good summer league he felt like he really wanted to show off his improvements tonight and it didn't happen for him.

Okogie looked immense of D. He was causing mayhem early on.

Benz is a Dude? Only Benz I know is actress Julie Benz from Dexter and other series. Love her.
