I posted this too. clears a roster spot and creates a little room to sign a replacement. hate to lose him but maybe we can give him another shot next year.

Re: Woj: Sumner traded to Nets
If nothing else comes back to Indy (I assume this is looped into the Sekou dump on Houston from Brooklyn to make it a 3 team deal), then Indy will end up with a $2.42m TPE, good for one year from today. This trade will also put Indy at $3.09m or so under the luxury tax, the breathing room we likely need for the full season.
I would imagine this also could secure Kelan Martin's roster spot for the season. This also gives a shot for a Keifer Sykes, allegedly a Carlisle interest, to possibly make the roster as a 3rd PG.
The other main news, is that since we were the last team to trade Sumner away during this year, we would not be able to re-sign him for the rest of this league year.

Juan Pablo Vaulet is a 25 year old Argentine, that was the 39th pick in the 2015 draft. He has not done anything since to lead me to believe he could ever possibly come over to the NBA.

A little disappointed that in the end Sumner ended up being a salary dump
At least there is a silver lining in the form of the decisiveness of the team's decision making. Instead of letting things drag out, both Sumner and the team can now move on and start the next leg of their journey

I’m not disappointed because no way he’s playing this year, it’s bigger money off the books than cutting Kelan Martin, and there’s a chance to get him back next year if he’s not on a team. I will miss his hustle and last year’s growth. Pacers need to develop some bench talent or it’s gonna be ugly and the starters will be playing more.

Definitely feel for the guy and wonder would have been without injury. The move definitely makes sense for us since he won't be playing though.

Re: Woj: Sumner traded to Nets
This was a good trade for us to get off the money and open a spot. It's a bummer though. Sumner was the only guy we drafted and developed who was slated to actually have a role (with us) since Myles. And he has a ton of interesting skills. But that damage was already done with the injury.

Re: Woj: Sumner traded to Nets
Indy added a top 37 protection on the 2nd round pick. If Miami’s pick is 31-37, then Indy gets it. If it’s 38 or above, Brooklyn gets it. No rollover.
