So do we take a breather if we dont land a top tier talent for Ben?

Because even if you get a guy like Haliburton or Brogdon and if Maxey and Milton dont show any improvement on their game its very likely going to be just a second round exit.

And if you look around, taking the teams who took a breather are clearly in better shape and we may want to follow their footsteps.

The more talent that can contribute right away we can get for Ben, the less reliant are we on Maxey and Milton’s development. And this goes the other way around.

2x 3+D low usage guards to go with a proven scorer.

Don’t like the fit with Derozan but other than that Bulls have had a great off season.

Pels are going to miss Ball.

I’m betting he’s going to end up on championship winning team within 6 years (after this contract is over). Just looks an ideal type to be that.

Derozan can’t shoot threes, but he is a good fit otherwise. Ball is a playmaker, but not so much in the half court so far. Derozan fills the role. And it’s OK having one guy that can’t shoot threes in the lineup. It’s just generally not your SF, but he can score everywhere else so it’s not like you can just not guard him. He will take a lot of responsibility/pressure off of LaVine.

It’s more or less the defense of Lavine, Derozan, Vucevic which Ball + Good defender probably won’t be enough offset. The offense will be great

But personally I prefer to hedge towards a more balanced team they tend to pretty well and much better than slanted teams.

Yes been saying all along a three way deal where I posted before with the Blazers works out so seamlessly it’s not funny.

Ingram is on the outer I’m pretty sure there was a leak months ago.

Contracts, and what all three teams needs and problems are literally solved overnight.

I mean getting a triple solution would be a masterful move for all parties involved.

Such an easy and smooth deal:

Sixers: Ingram
Blazers: Ben, our 1st, Satoranksy
Pels: CJ, Blazers 1st (or whichever is the highest pick between the two), Roco

Pels:
CJ
Hart
Roco
Zion
Val

Go hard for Turner, move Val & Graham before the oncoming implode. Ball was a great catalyst for them. Graham is closer to Bledsoe all over again. Boom all in on Zion with acres of space and good defense. Scary team

Us:
Curry
Green
Ingram
Harris
Embiid

Pretty good squad. Harris is more movable as the contract gets another year off next year. Drummond, Green, Thybulle, Milton, Maxey, Korkmaz all should be on the table to look for appropriate investments/returns. We need young guards so get them. Don’t worry Harris is a perfect tank commander someone will nab him with 2 years left. A very durable 20ppg scorer is the selling point so sell it perfectly for that. Watch Morey get out from under it with the stud move of getting Curry :) :) we 50/50 it which is better than losing assets.

Blazers:
Lillard
Powell
Patterson/Little/Snell
Simmons
Nurkic

Need defense they got it. Lillard + Powell + Nurkic is plenty of offense. Heck ask for Simons for Thybulle as the Curry replacement. Lillard can offset the dynamic defensive duo. We can’t win/win.

I should be GM. All 3 have pretty much 2x 20ppg or 20++ppg scorers, defenders and better pieces to max out their best player.

Honestly all three should take responsibility all build it the right way which all three haven’t and only have themselves to blame.

Brogdon+LeVert is a good return for Simmons IMO.

Maxey, Brogdon, Green, Harris, Embiid -- Curry, Thybulle, LeVert, Niang, Drummond -- Springer, Joe, Milton, Korkmaz, Reed

LeVert gives a lot of flexibility to lineups. He could start or lead the bench.

If Irving won't get vaxxed will the Nets move him? Bigger question would they deal with a division rival?

Worry about that later, our duo is set that’s the main priority.

We wouldn’t win a game against Harden/KD/Ben and Kyrie has a terrible injury record plus he’s a nut who is just as likely to retire

Avoid that like the plague as you are handing the title to the Nets

They apparently already wanted to trade him (to Philly or somewhere else) but Durant didn't allow it...although Kyrie would be a great fit here skill wise, maybe it's for the better.

Pretty sure KD will cool on keeping Kyrie if he not available for over half (possibly all) their games.
And yes Ben added to that team would make them crazy tuff , though Kyrie in Philly would put up some big numbers.

I cant find my post where i compared KPJ to Edwards.

I still maintain my position that KPJ is right there with Edwards in terms of value.

The only question about him is his character thats why he was acquired by the Rox with a low price.

If you can’t get Edwards, I wouldnt mind having KPJ given he has been scared straight

And my gahdd.. i’d take KPJ over Dejounte Murray everyday.

There is no way I even consider trading for unvaccinated Kyrie, who I already thought was going to retire before his contract was up. Can you imagine if he can’t play in a hypothetical Sixers-Nets ECF!?!

I hope we're all bracing for a first round exit, because that's what we're getting.

Look at it this way. Who are the likely top 2 seeds in the East? Isnt it Brook and Milw? They will be seeded to meet each other in the ECF. So can we beat either team in the 2nd round? I really doubt it. We will have to make a 2 step trade for Ben, or hope for development from Maxey or whomever we acquire for next season.

But hey, it could still be fun. We can look for signs of development and improvement this season.

He would be able to play as the visiting player actually. Just not as the hometown player.

Might be able to get 82 games out of them (combined).

Which teams are you referring to taking a breather? There were teams ransacked by covid and injuries, not sure if those were “breathers”. The reality is even making the second round of the playoffs is tough and plenty of good teams don’t do that.

Please no Kyrie. The guy is a crackling Tesla coil of crazy. The sixers would be a scorched and lifeless pile of rubble by March.
